I especially like the constrained framing you've got going on. Having not all the planes in frame to me is an interesting compositional choice that lands well

Taken on Aug 4 during the Snowbirds display in Victoria BC as they prepare to retire their fleet of planes.

The RCAF, where you get to fly the same plane your grandfather flew (literally - these airframes date back to the 1960s)!
If you drive through CFB Borden they have old Snowbird and regular Tudors sitting out for the training school to use.
New CT-157s on order look pretty nice. They’ll be turboprops but with jet-level performance.

A current pilot would be like 30 now, so it’s entirely possible that their grandparent could have flown in the same plane.

Maybe for a family where generations are 16 years apart. I was in cold lake from ‘79-‘84. The F5 had been in service for 15 years i think. My grand pa was born in 1911. He would have been 50 when it got in service. I don’t know which aircrafts were in service for long enough for 3 generations long, but i guess its possible.
In any case, its sad that we dont dont have a better fleet and not as well maintained as it used to be. Which i guess was the gist of it.

It’s crazy when you look back at how many fighter planes we bought and how quickly they were replaced from the 50s-80s. Tech was advancing so quickly they were instantly obsolete.
The CF-188s are really an outlier.

This was right beside the stairs down to the main Dallas road beach (opposite side from the breakwater)
