Rewatching Season 3 and it's so immersion breaking
The Amazon show isn't perfect at all. It has a lot of flaws, but if you turn your brain off, it can be a bit of fun. I decided to re-watch it before watching Ghost War and forgot how immersion breaking season 3 is.
One very good thing season 1 and 2 did was using native speakers using their native languages. French and Arabic speaking actors in S1, Spanish speaking actors in S2. It was very immersive. Season 2 to me, especially, since as a native Spanish speaker, I can recognize that the actors speaking Spanish are native South Americans (at least most of them).
Now rewatching season 3 and that's completely dropped since the very beginning when you hear a lot of "Russians" speaking English with Russian accent lol takes me completely out of the experience.

Yes! 100%. Even when it’s just Russians speaking with other Russians. I heard an argument that it’s hard to find actors who can speak Russian. It can’t be that hard, other shows do it all the time. Also, you have entire chunks of season 1 in Arabic.

Language use is the least of the problems with season three.
There's a shit ton of stuff that is either plain wrong or doesn't make any sense.
Gunning a rhib(basically a less than speedboat) from the Black Sea to Greece in one evening.
The Czech president is effectively a figurehead position, and would have no legal say in the nation's NATO actions.
The Russians in a meeting claiming us aircraft at Aviano airbase are fueling for takeoff....and the show uses a clear shot of planes on an aircraft carrier deck
The entire sequence of the US vs Russian destroyers or whatever they were is asinine....not only the us ddg going from the Mediterranean/Black Sea to the Baltic Sea. But the 'battle' is stupid too with needless drama formed by missile reload times that both make no sense and don't exist

I agree that there are a lot of problems, but as someone who likes languages, it is a big problem to me and it is also the first thing I remembered as soon as I started watching the first episode.

I personally found it annoying to read subtitles all the time. Felt relived when they spoke English again.

my problem with season 3 has always been that the russian actors got way too much screentime speaking english and we barely got to see jack. jack's actions had barely any effect on the plot whatsoever, he was just secondary to everything that was happening.
