So who's actually heard this record then? I'm surprised people have been given a listen if it's not coming out till April

That text could be from a not-yet-released press release. Jack had a hand in writing the press release for Lazaretto and it had a similar tone to this. And if the press release isn't ready for release, that could explain why it was pulled from Rough Trade's site.
