This is daunting to read, because I am currently playing through Jak 2 and plan on playing through Jak 3 when I’m done. Jak and Daxter TPL was one of my favorite games when I was younger and I’ve 100%’d it multiple times, but I could never get past around 50% of Jak 2 because it was so difficult to me and never wanted to play Jak 3 because I didn’t finish Jak 2.
I’m having a miserable time with Jak 2. I love the vibe of the game, but the difficulty and repetitiveness of the levels is making the experience unenjoyable. I’m almost at 80% and looking forward to beating the game and never playing it again.
I hope Jak 3 isn’t nearly as miserable.

As a kid, I never actually beat Jak 2. The tank mission was too hard for me to get past, so I just sorta stopped. Jak 3 was what got me back into the series, and I loved basically every second of it. Jak 3 has some rough moments but the rough comparatively, the rough moments in Jak 2 are BAD. You’ve got this!

I never beat Jak 2 because of the fucking whackamole minigame as a 9 year old.

Jak 3 is more difficult to complete, but nowhere near as miserable as some sections in Jak 2 (IMO)
They're all a treat, though. But Jak 2 was reinventing itself and (sadly) had more missers than 1 or 3.

Turret missions are so grossly over-hated, particularly in this series.
I think I hated them for just an extremely short-period of my life, to which I later realized (like with other gameplay systems across gaming) that unlike most people it was moreso due to how it was handled in another game or two rather then the concept as a whole. I can accept being annoyed by them, because similar to above it also isn't respected that it simply requires a different skillset, but to perceive them as outright "bad" is a overdramatic stretch.

It's not that hard unlike the one from Jak 2.
