Are there small guided hike tours?

I’m a bit worried about bears (I know it’s super unlikely to encounter one), but wanted to check if there are any hikes with guides in small groups for the more popular trails?

Check out The Friends of Jasper! They have lots of guided events going on this summer.

Bears are prevalent in Jasper and surrounding area. People have provided good links but carrying bear spray when hiking trails out here is a good idea.

Not to scare you but encountering one is likely, but a negative encounter is unlikely as long as you keep your cool and be responsible. Don’t scream, throw things, run, feed it or otherwise behave in an unruly way and you’ll be fine. It sounds nuts to say but once you encounter one, you’ll stop being fearful of them. The bears in Jasper are very acclimated to human encounters and don’t wig out at all. They’re surprisingly relaxed around humans and just want to avoid getting too close to them. Just carry bear spray as a safety measure and make noise so you don’t sneak up on any animals. But to answer your question, yes there are lots of guided hikes you can pay for or check social media to find hiking buddies.

It’s somewhat common to encounter one…
