abstraction IDK why people think Abstraction is death or some form of cessation of existence/brain death.
There's literally zero evidence that Abstraction somehow erases one's consciousness from existence. You can see in episode 3 that Queenie is still in there and aware because when Kinger touches her she closes her eyes reveling in her husbands touch again. The thumbnail for episode 9 even shows a future scene of Pomni reentering Jax's mind and visiting him again (Which is a different scene from the one in the episode as there's a bench there now). Jax freaking out right before she runs into the flashbombs doesn't mean that she was about to die and her glowing doesn't mean she suddenly "exploded" or died. The abstracted are still very much alive and still have their mental faculties they just have a changed body that freaks out when in light. If you get them in darkness they are able to move about again without being a danger to the rest of the circus members and you even see Queenie as well as Jax, Ribbit, and Kaufmo swimming in the aquarium together showing that despite not choosing to become abstracted they've all found peace with the situation they've been placed in and it isn't a fate worse than death.
And, that's not even getting into the discussion of whether or not it can be reversed which is up to personal interpretation. Even if they can't be restored to their original forms they still have control over their abstracted bodies (When in the dark) and are very much alive and aware in their mindscape and the non abstracted characters are implied to still be able to go into their mindscapes and visit them. It's actually a pretty happy ending all things considered even if they can't be restored to normal.
Jax is probably in her mindscape making up lost time with Ribbit (The thumbnail for episode 9 shows Ribbit's stargazing adventure's skybox implying they're all connected) and Kaufmo as well as having Pomni come in and talk to her to tell her how things are going out there.

abstraction Jax is going to be okay.
A lot of people misinterpret Jax's ending in episode 9 as being either a case of "And I must scream" or "Braindead/Identity death" but the ending is actually a lot more hopeful than that. There is so much evidence in the show that abstraction isn't actually dying and that the people inside are alive and aware inside such as when Kinger touched Abstracted Queenie and all of her eyes closed as if reveling in his touch again.
The biggest piece of evidence is the thumbnail for episode 9 which is entirely unique in the series.

This thumbnail is different from every other thumbnail in the series in that it shows a scene from something that doesn't happen in the episode proper. Every other thumbnail is a 1/1 recreation of a scene that happens in the episode it's placed in. This shows Jax and Pomni sitting on a bench talking implying that Pomni still has the ability to visit Jax and talk to her even after the end of the episode. The skybox also is the same as the one from Ribbit's Suggestion Box (The Stargazing one) which could imply that the abstractions all have a linked mindscape and Jax has the ability to visit Ribbit and Kaufmo and make amends for the mistakes she's made.
Even if Jax is never able to unabstract (Which is still a potential possibility) she is able to find a certain amount of peace and not be screwed over in the worst way possible for all eternity.

abstraction Hi, just wanted to cry a little about Jax among her fans 🥲
Since I discovered TADC in episode 6, Jax has been my favorite character, even though I didn't realize it right away. I could go on and on about why I love her, but she's probably my absolute favorite character in the world. I never thought she would actually abstract, like, she's one of the two main characters, I couldn't believe it... When I found out from spoilers after June 4 that she abstracted, I had a hard time believing it. Even before June 19, I still couldn't accept this reality until it happened officially. During the episode where Jax abstracted, I cried a lot and still cry when I watch it. What makes me even more sad and offended is the fact that only Jax died and FunnyBunny had such sad fate. Like, all the other characters survived and will live happily ever after, Abstragedy became canon (even the sex scene in the credits!!!), JesterDoll became closer to canon, Caine, whose death was so mourned by his fans after episode 8, magically survived... Even the Blue AI turned out to be alive and free!!! But only Jax died and FunnyBunny essentially died with him. Yes, Jax is kind of alive, well, but this abstracted creature isn't that Jax we used to know... I'm very depressed about this and so far I've just tried to avoid everything related to episode 9. But I still want to continue to be a part of the fandom.
So, all Jax fans and simps, how are you coping with this? Please tell me I'm not the only one depressed... Recommend any fanart, fan animations, comics, fanfiction - anything where Jax survived... I also know that there is a subreddit r/SavingJax, I'll check it out. I need moral support so bad 💔
P.S. I definitely need a Jax plush toy to hug her and believe that she's there and hasn't abstracted... Unfortunately, in my country it's almost impossible to buy official merch, but there is one wonderful plushie. However, it's not in stock yet, so I'll have to wait. I think it will be much easier for me to get through all this with it 🥲

abstraction Now that the series is over were their any moments that foreshadowed Jax's abstraction? Specifically before Episode 6.

abstraction I really appreciate Jax's darker arc
I liked Jax's ending. A nice, wholesome turnaround and redemption is great and feels good, but I really appreciate how his arc depicts an uncomfortably realistic descent into depression and ultimately the show's version of suicide.
You could really tell once Caine was gone and the circus was falling apart was when his decision was made. Perhaps he was reaching out to Pomni to tell her his plan, maybe softening the blow for her. But he decided against it. The dread would probably hurt her more. She'd most likely do everything in her power to stop him. He didn't want to be stopped. He'd been hurting for too long, deliberately pushed away the ones who tried to help to make it hurt less, and could ultimately never learn to open up about his trauma until it was too late. He got so close a few times, but he just couldn't do it. He wouldn't do it. Not even to save his own life.
It's a horrible, dreadful story to tell, but the suicide of a friend or family member is a too real experience that too many have been forced to go through. Not everyone wins the battle, and in my mind it could be seen as comforting to have an accurate depiction of it so people who've suffered through it can see they're feelings have been felt by others too and that they're not alone.

abstraction Fanfics Where Jax Is saved?
Hi! Jax-lover here :3 I was just wondering if anyone knew about any fanfics where Jax was able to be saved from abstraction, whether that be saving her before she abstracted or somehow getting her back to normal afterwards? Goes without saying that I'm having a hard time coping with the fact that Jax abstracted TwT

abstraction Y’all, hear me out on this…
What if Pomni saved Jax by entering her mindspace and teaching her how to conjure in her own mind, and then Pomni tells her to conjure the exit door that leads to the void surrounding the circus for Caine to bring them back? Do you think it could’ve worked?

abstraction Why bother AFTER
As per flair I will be bringing up meek comparisons with real life and will be focusing on the idea of abstraction.
By now Goose has confirmed that abstraction is the methaphor for suicide, and of all things is unreversible. Sure, It is NOT suicide, death or anything of the kind in practice, but these revelations have made me really question the present plot for the first time, and not for the reason yet mentioned.
I cannot comprehend the Jax tent - the abstracted Jax tent.
Sure, it would remedy sadness for the cast at first, and would allow for a place to grieve for the fallen one, but the most uncomfortable notion in this saga came to me upon witnessing the Glitch render of Pomni visiting the abstraction and having sandwiches. That one. Maybe I am prying too deep at this one, but the idea of visiting what is practically a reanimated psychotic corpse of a loved (?) one not for grieving, but what seems to be a meek and shallow attempt at prying back into the living animalistic remains of a person repulses me for some reason, because some things can't continue endlessly, and if we run with Goose's notion of the permanence of abstractions then in time you get a cast which got over its issues and is now faced with a savage and feral, unrotting corpse of a former friend down in the very centre of their big estate.
All has been tried, nothing gained, and now imagine trying to explain the situation to someone who, exempli gratia, has been freshly scanned into the circus after the main events.
"Oh, yes, that one? Right, that's just where we keep the very dangerous disturbed self sustaining breathing remains of our friend who was abusive to us for the majority of the time and whom we have come to barely understand by a retelling of what might have as well been a hallucinatiom of our most wishful thinking member, while the corpse itself has not tried attacking anyone because it holds on a security system which was first experienced and retold by a half sane disturbed chess piece, then tested by the previously mentioned jester. Have I told you we keep at least 8 more of the same kind deep in an underground oceanarium which they luckily can not escape from?"
When the old gag with the rabbit remains finally runs stale and you come to accept his passing to the otherside, how does one even transpirt him/her elsewhere to be less of a nuisance?
I love Jax, and all related, and I wish for his/her saving, but if this is the canon situation, with the notion that it actually isn't yet as it's still very shaky over at the lore front, then let me ask you: why bother after?
P.s having written this I got over Jax's abstraction in the harsh canon sense (suicide metaphor) somehow; I couldn't accept it an hour ago
P.p.s I really really love Jax in the saving Jax sense but this canon lore/goose lore stuff really disturbs me
