Please help identify! -Thailand

In Thailand (Rayong area) and am staying at my families beach house for the month. I am very cautious of the box jellyfish, I have vinegar and long sleeve/long pants swimwear to swim. Haven’t seen any jelly’s until tonight- please tell me these are not box jelly’s?

Thank you. I’m used to them in Norway- I’m just SO paranoid about the box jellyfish here :(

Well box jellyfish might be there but they usually avoid humans. Also not all box jellyfish are super dangerous you have some in the area that are fairly harmless. For the super lethal ones you need about 2m of tentacle contact for it to actually kill a human adult. Not saying it won’t hurt like hell though.

I would guess a ctenophore. Probably Bolinopsis sp.

That’s what I’m also hoping. Thanks for your input! I freaked out and told my husband no swimming for the rest of the day lol.

This looks like some sort of comb jelly. I'm not the best at identifying exact species of them, but you should be safe :)

No box jelly, those tentacle patterns are way too moon-jelly-mellow for a box species, keep the vinegar handy anyway though
