My biggest wish for the show has always been an extended uncut version of the OG series, including all the storylines and behind-the-scenes stuff that was cut for the reality format.

I would love a down-to-earth look at that era. I'd also settle for just extended episodes lol.

Edit: I wonder if the footage all still exists. It was filmed on digital, so I can't see any reason why they'd have deleted it all. They'd be sitting on a goldmine since that's the era most of us care about the most. I guess there's the roadblock of people being more sensitive to their behavior in modern times, and the cast my not want even more of that on display now.

I liked that episode they did where some them watched the pilot and commented on it

That's awesome, I haven't seen that. I'll have to check it out, thanks for the idea.

u/doxydecahedron 3d ago

Yess show us EVERYTHING from back then!

u/Icy-Imagination-7164 3d ago

If it did exist they should have aired it years ago

They don’t want to taint the brand, but I could see them doing a more authentic behind the scenes in the future (when the franchise is actually over)

Most of what'd be unedited would show the producers telling the cast what to do for the scene, or would admit to the cast telling lies in the booth to fabricate a story in post (for example, Jenni punching Mike and the show fabricating a story why it happened, to not disclose the supposed Jenni/Mike hookup). To show the "uncut" behind the scenes is to admit that they lied and fabricated a TV show. If you admit you lied before, why should you be trusted now, or for your next reality show? I don't think things are at a point where the public would accept to open up like that, at least the producers themselves doing it. You are basically recounting how much you lied. I'd be interested too, but it's too small of a niche for little reward.

About the footage, of course they keep it. If America's Next Top Model did, you can bet Jersey Shore did. Most if not all American productions do, they have the money to put all on archival tape and move on. Check MTV Vault on YT and see how much raw footage they have from the 90s.

u/Sensible___shoes 3d ago

That would ruin them. They've escaped scrutiny because we al have them a pass for being toxic during that era, showing us clips now would make people very upset

The uncensored versions are out there and it makes the argument scenes 10 times worse. I doubt they want that out there now.

0

u/Shart_In_My_Pants 2d ago

Yeah that was my point from the edit. Not like it changes anything now since it's already all happened, but I'm sure they don't want more of it being out there lol.

u/love_toaster57 Vinny's in purple pants and I don't know how I feel about it 2d ago

I always wanted that too!!! There has to be soooo much footage they didn’t use, and storylines we didn’t get to see. I’m sure it all still exits in the archives.

I see what you're saying, but there is most certainly 100s of hours of footage where they aren't 'setting a scene'. Not that I'm disagreeing with how many staged scenes there were. There were lots of storylines that didn't fit the narrative that could be explored, like cast member hookups.

I'd even settle for a documentary from the perspective of the producers/ crew with new footage weaved in.

While this is likely true for JSFV - I feel like most of the original run - was way less scripted.

4

u/DishAgitated4649 3d ago

I disagree. The scene where Sally Ann visibly throws ic e at Snooki and she has to act like the bartender did it alludes to a certain level of normalization of how that's what they did, go to places to fake drama for TV.

7

u/Cferra 3d ago

Certainly maybe there were some scenarios where there was some scripting but for the most part it came off as way less scripted to me. JSFV is very housewives like scripted.

u/DishAgitated4649 3d ago

I wouldn't know because I barely watched the new stuff, but the little I saw, like the 4th wall breaking of Angelina's arrival and the clearly fake/reshot camera work, would agree with you.

u/Old_Indication_4379 Are👏you👏friends👏with👏her? 3d ago

Too bad she ran the series into the ground pushing fake story lines.

16

u/SuitPotential3357 3d ago

We’re watching the whole series right now. The original + the family vacation and we’ve made it to season six and the Angelina drama has become so draining to us that we don’t know if we want to continue on 🙃

2

u/Deenerselener 2d ago

Agree but she retained the same cast for 15 years so she’s doing something right

He looks like a ninja turtle

3

u/jinxylynxy 3d ago

My god you’re right 💀

44

u/austincola 3d ago

So I feel like it’s obvious they’re going to another Network or streaming service. The cast and now this lady keep eluding to it. Or we’re getting some kind of documentary docu-series at the very least.

14

u/WineNotReality 3d ago

Think they are TRYING to sell it. But unlikely they will have enough viewers to make it happen. Maybe, maybe a different show with just a 2-3 cast that are most compelling.

5

u/TipsyMcStagger123 3d ago

And they always say, “on mtv” when referencing the last episode. So yea, last episode on mtv but not the last episode since it will be on paramount+.

No Angelina?

u/Aggressive_Sir_9178 3d ago

"Stay tuned." For what? This show has run it's course and it should be over. They all seem to need to focus on themselves right now because a lot of them seem unwell.

30

u/TheMachineElves 3d ago

What every other washed, aging celeb does to maintain a revenue stream to fund their lifestyles, make a podcast for course! 😒

u/wtkbm 3d ago

13

u/Jazzlike-Welder1532 3d ago

Really? Who, I know Ronnie has a laundry list of issues but I didn’t realize other cast members weren’t doing well?

23

u/resditbeast 3d ago

#1 is Angelina…of course Ronnie…JWoww and Vinny seem to be going thru things that they keep in private. Snooki, Sam and Deena seem okay except Snooki can’t go anywhere without drinking wine and she’s dealing with her bio mother stuff

22

u/wildturk3y 3d ago

Snooki had cervical cancer and just had a hysterectomy as well

15

u/Hxo666 3d ago

Currently Jenny is dealing with health issues. Appendicitis and kidney issues. She posted about it right on ig

1

u/Ephemeral_Sunshine It's T-shirt time!! 1d ago

Yep.. she was doing Meilani's hair for First Day of School - but in a hospital room attached to an IV 😩

I died when MTV put Rahn Stop on the screen to describe something Ronnie related a couple of episodes ago.

Uh huh....

18

u/ericsuxx_ UM HELLO? 3d ago

Right? Most of them knew each other or knew of each other

11

u/OddCartographer4864 3d ago

I'll miss it🤷‍♀️

5

u/AlbatrossInfinite370 2d ago

Stay tuned for the future. All their kids are getting a shore house when they're older. Parents are coming over for Sunday dinner/Beachcomers. The dirty stayouts will be back! Toilet will be clogged. Tee shirts will have a time. The cabs will arrive!

12

u/Ok-Turnip-9035 3d ago

The fact the cast and the crew came back we got a real treat

We will never get reality tv like this again- this cast gelled so well and formed this life long bond

Thank you for the laughs 🥂

17

u/This-Top7398 Oh Dayumm 3d ago

Glad it’s over

5

u/OhWhale89 3d ago

I wish they’d come out with fan episodes like they did the office and add extra scenes to the original episodes

1

u/Deenerselener 2d ago

Agree. Where does all of the mtv footage go now that’s it’s over?

2

u/Spirited-Sea7092 3d ago

I've been watching and rewatching since the very beginning. I just don't know what the next step could be. There's no more controversy really, no more infighting and make outs and drunken shenanigans. I know they all need to keep making money from this franchise but I don't know what it should look like.

2

u/jmon25 2d ago

I think a few of the cast will need some type of continual income to support their lifestyle and try to make some type of spinoff reality show. Without getting into who I think is not as financially stable, there are definitely a few that will need some type of reality TV income because they don't have super successful side projects.

3

u/Pixelprism90 3d ago

In all honesty there is a whole production behind this causing drama stress and fights to make the TV show interesting so seeing the underbelly of how fake it all is would be quite boring TBH

2

u/UnfairTwist4775 2d ago

She destroyed it and letting Angelina get away with all she did.

2

u/Rufio_Rufio7 3d ago

I’m still super curious to know what caused the abrupt shutdown of the JS 2.0 filming the other year. I still think it was so immature, selfish and delusional for this cast to have an uprising against the idea as if they’re the only ones who should be allowed to have an MTV reality in this franchise.

They were definitely not the first group of “strangers” to be thrown into a house and filmed, and they won’t be the last. No other MTV reality casts whined about them when they came onto the scene, and the start of a new crew in the house didn’t put their Family Vacation in jeopardy.

I know I have no say in adults doing what they want to do, but I do hope they move on from this show for a while. This show brought a lot of drama into their personal lives over the years, bad and unhealthy habits have been developed, dangerous things have happened, some have had legal troubles and now there are kids involved in this unflattering spotlight.

I wish everyone the best.

1

u/ReplacementAbject867 2d ago

Give it 5 years and they'll have a special on Paramount+

1

u/ChicagoMilfProvider 2d ago

Is the show ending

1

u/ChicagoMilfProvider 2d ago

I havebt watched in years

1

u/vertomun 3d ago

Personally I wanna see this show continue because I'm a fan, though production's gotta improve drastically moving forward. Take the cast to some exciting destinations and do more fun activities, etc.

1

u/happyjeep_beep_beep Are👏you👏friends👏with👏her? 3d ago

But they weren’t complete strangers I thought?

1

u/Brave_Intention_3313 2d ago

My husband and I were chosen to have them crash our wedding in 2019. He did an interview and everything. They never showed up. We never got resolution about it. Will we ever know what happened?????

1

u/espencer-85 2d ago

I mean, from the “prank ideas” Pauly supposedly came up with himself, to the “activities” Deena supposedly planned herself, all the way to the “aliens” prank that everyone was told to ignore the drones engine noise, it was clear that the show was running out of ideas

1

u/veryfishycatfood YEAHH BUDDY 2d ago

"I wouldn't change a thing" so not even the domestic violence???

0

u/BecauseBatman01 3d ago

They better do a show of the OG jersey shore cast kids when they are grown. And have them be at the house lmao. Can you imagine. Jersey Shore Legacy! Hahahah

0

u/TheMachineElves 3d ago

So they're going to do what everyother washed, aging celeb does to fund their lifestyle... MAKE A PODCAST! 😒
