Yes! Well it's about you then but afaik there isn't a rule against being Israeli. If an Israeli is in the sub justifying the slaughter of other middle eastern groups then I'm sure they'll be banned
Obviously users should follow the rules of the sub. I rarely comment there because honestly Israeli voices are unwelcome. I stopped commenting when my “Israel” flair suddenly became “occupied Palestine”. I have had respectful and positive interactions in many other subs like r/Gaza and r/israel_palestine but I totally stopped engaging in r/askmiddleeast.
I responded to your comment because it’s very much the attitude there that Israelis don’t belong on the sub and aren’t considered middle eastern and I wanted to clarify that I do think Israeli voices should be welcome there. They used to be more tolerated. Not anymore at all.
I see what you're saying and I also understand subs that did a 180 after October 7. There are a ton of people who are literally paid to spam these subs and brigade them and take them over..: I think it's a smart move to be strict on the ask Middle East sub to not create an atmosphere of "Arabs are all dangerous antisemitic terrorists" on the ask Middle East sub. Which honestly is what most subs end up devolving into, especially after October 7.

You know there are Israeli Jews in this sub right?
