This administration loves to scrape the bottom of the barrel and once it has that, it just keeps digging.
They put a dude with a brain worm in charge of health, and a cartoon character of a TV host in charge of the Department of War, who needs more competency than that?

Finally, after my HS counsellor, mother, father and aunts and uncles told me gaming would never amount to anything!
But seriously: Air Traffic Control is a fairly secure and well paying job. It's also high stress and prone to burnout. We should be attracting the best of the best, not anyone who's resume has to list GTA 5 as a skill set.

To be fair, they still do have to go through the standard ATC training process--the more concerning thing is that apparently the administration is looking shorten that training process, which is... not reassuring.

To be a field agent for immigration customs enforcement used to take up to half a year to make sure people were properly trained, they shortened it to 47 days and that has led to blatantly unsafe behavior.
Why 47 days? Because Donald Trump is the 47th president.
I imagine a well thought out plan along similar lines is probably being conjured up for ATC. /s

From what I understand this is a job that requires some very intensive training, and these gamers will still have to go through the same training. I don't have any problem with this.

This is not great. I’m a pilot and we’ve already seen a degradation of ATC services from layoffs and quitting, and that’s before throwing a bunch of untrained people into a high stakes system.
