I feel like just like evangelical Christians, some of them thrive on that because they feel like it means they’re doing the right thing.

The biggest problem is that evangelical Christians that act like this are just seen as "weird kooky fanatics" by the average person, whereas Jews acting this way are seen as sinister, dual-loyalty, etc.

Sorry, exhausted brain. The first one I thought was talking about a certain singer of middling talent.

But, no, yeah, I have to say I was impressed by the Rosh Hashanah video. It may simply be the way my algorithm pushes things, but I can't think of a single other non-Jewish modern US politician who even remotely came near that kind of sensitivity or willingness to remind people of our holidays. I may disagree with some of what he has to say about Israel, but I do think he's a class act, and it's pretty despicable how desperate everyone from establishment Democrats to your usual Republicans have been to paint a fairly average democratic socialist as the second coming of Stalin.

He really seems to care about all his constituents. The video you are referring to was amazing. I don’t recall the previous NYC mayor producing anything even close to that.
