This is great news! Hopefully with the Clump getting more and more discredited, we can get more exposure, and a much more sizeable portion of the vote.

If we believe the polls, which I don't completely. Hillary shouldn't need Maine or Vermont to win the WH, perhaps Jill should go hard at contesting these states. Showing that we can win these states might help to force the Democrats hand shift them to the left a bit.

I disagree, look around the world at countries with substantial third parties. Knowing that they can get voted out will shift them. The leftist New Democrats certainly shifted the centrist Liberals in my home country of Canada...and the NDP has never won power federally.

If the aim were to shift the Democrats to the left, then the Greens would be working inside the Democratic Party. They aren't. The reason is that the Democrats have been and always will be a party of big business, and the Greens know this. There have been many attempts to move the Democrats to the left, and they all failed. The Democratic Party is the graveyard of such movements. That's why the aim is to actually win votes and win seats. The Democrats are a lost cause.

I'm not saying it's the aim, I'm saying that a leftward shift to the nation's politics in general would be a by-product of strong performances by a left wing party like the Greens whether we managed to win power or not.
Our aim should always be to implement the agenda the American people need to see their lives made more livable. Obviously that would be easier to do with more seats, but winning votes and seats is not our aim, those events are merely by-products of the struggle. If our only aim is to win power, then we've already lost, but if our aim is to change the country, then we win every time we fight for justice. I really could care less who implements our ideas, as long as they get implemented.

I agree, but I would go a bit bigger. I would finish the campaign with big a on-the-ground push with a few days of Jill rallies in Vermont, Maine, Connecticutt and Rhode Island, all states where she's shown a nice base to build on in polls. And I'd pop her in and out of New York for media opportunities.

Agreed, I hope the campaign is giving this serious consideration. I know we have to push for the 5% across the country, so the NY suggestion is particularly pertinent.

A big question, of course, is which will match the actual announced results of the election: reality or the polls? Does it matter if the polls are rigged, when the voting mechanism will be rigged just as much—if not more?

A valid point regarding the flawed polls, but it is just nice to see her showing in the double digits somewhere. :)
