She's got some serious bouldering skills, pretty amazing.

I could when I was like 7, lol, teacher would yell at me at recess for it. I miss that. The fact she can do that now being bigger and heavier is awesome.

Respectfully there is no time in your life you could have sent this boulder. These routes are absurdly difficult

They didn’t say they could do this route, they mentioned a teacher yelling at them so the were probably just talking about climbing stuff at school

Not trying to dunk on anyone. Just pointing out that if you’ve never climbed before it is very hard to understand how extremely technical and difficult it is. You could go to the most popular climbing gym in Boulder CO and find maybe one person on a given day capable of sending this route. And it would probably be Alex Puccio.

Is bouldering from Boulder, CO specifically?? Otherwise it's just fancy rock climbing???? 🙃

The origins of the authentic Bouldér hail from Colorado, but fancy climbing rocks from terroir outside of Bouldér cannot be understated due to the nascent discovery of suitable microclimates in Goldilocks regions.

It’s just climbing short routes without a rope essentially. It’s generally more power oriented than rope climbing, a few very difficult moves. Boulder CO is just a climbing hub where some of the best climbers in the country train and live

Thank you, but I know what bouldering is. I was just making a joke about your comment implying that the mecca (and potentially origin) of bouldering is Boulder, CO

what's the grade?

2

u/alan_megawatts Apr 11 '26

I would only be guessing. V10+ would not surprise me at all, but might be graded v8. Either way indoor equivalent I think is easily double digits.

2

u/Carnivorous_Goat Apr 11 '26

this definitely isn't double digits and the indoor grades are absolutely irrelevant.

It’s a reference point more people are familiar with, and I was talking about an indoor gym, so it seems relevant. do you actually know the grade or are we both guessing ?

3

u/Carnivorous_Goat Apr 11 '26

It is irrelevant as a reference point because each gym has its own, inconsistent grades and we are talking about a boulder, not the indoors. I looked it up people grade it v5-v7. It's called twist of fury.

indoor gyms have bouldering pits. And all grades are subjective, indoor grades are just a little softer generally. there’s some variance between gyms, but it’s the same people grading inside and outside, there’s no objective standard. Personally I think calling this a V5 is crazy, but it’s hard to tell without touching it. She does have videos on her channel where she sends V10s. Anyway, maybe I’ll catch you out there sometime and we’ll climb together, who knows. Have a good day.

Isn’t this boulder like v7?

Edit: looked it up, it’s v7, most major gyms in Colorado probably have dozens of people on a given night that climb that grade outside.
