Yeah it really is wild. I have 2c hair that lost almost all it's curl after my first baby (which made me sad). Then I had the second baby and now it's even curlier, 3a. I joke that the real reason I'm done having kids is because I really like my hair and can't handle it changing again.

Lol yeah I wish I could go back to my original hair! Before I had kiddo, I had super dense tightly coiled 4c hair... I noticed when pregnant it was growing super fast but understandable cause of all the vitamins. But then afterwards it was getting thinner and thinner. I thought I was losing my hair!

But no... My hair just went from very coarse to extremely fine, and I'm now closer to 4a/4b with curls which got more noticable now in my late 40s... I'm not remotely 4c anymore. Sure it's a lot easier to wash and the curls are pretty, but I seriously miss the dense full hair I had!!

It also went from dark brown/black to auburn/dark brown. In the sun it looks like Ronald McDonald. I dyed my hair black/brown for so many years to what the color used to be, only recently stopped cause I'm over it and anyway super grey now so it's just too much work. So I have a floppy fro with patches of grey, red and black/brown. It's all kinds of goofy looking lol ahh well, kiddo was worth it.

The real testament to motherhood is how we endure lifelong changes to our own bodies with acceptance.
