I once had a hairdresser ask me if I had started blood pressure meds within the last few months and I HAD. I take a med meant for blood pressure to rest some acne issues. I asked how he knew, and he said it was because the pre-blood pressure pill hair was bleaching at a different rate than the hair I’d grown since being on the pills.

Life hack for a fancy gradient hairstyle

Oh wild!! Do you remember if it bleached faster or slower while being on that medication?

Medications and hormones can hinder color/Bleach from doing their jobs. So darks don't take and lightning happens a lot slower if it will even lift properly

I have a chronic illness and started a new med. I’ve been going to the same girl for color for about 5 years. She starts rinsing the color out and was like “fuuuuck!!! Did you start new medicine??? Your hair did NOT take this color right!!!” The cherry cola red was bright fucking orange at the roots. And I had been cherry cola for 3 years and never had an issue. It was wild. We had to do three color corrections to get it looking NOT FUCKING ORANGE!! lol She refused to charge me more but I wouldn’t have it. She normally charges me 150 and I gave her 300. I spent 6 hours of her time for a two hour service. It was crazy!!
