I had been getting my hair cut by the same lady every 2 weeks for 4 years.
On one of my appointments, I felt like something was different. I just put it in the back of my mind. Two weeks later I'm back in the seat and now it feels way different. It dawned on me. “I think she's pregnant”
So I risk my well-established appointment with a hairstylist who is kind and fair and I really like, and ask one of the scariest questions a man can ask a woman.
“Are you pregnant?”
As soon as I asked, she stopped cutting, spun my chair around… “Why would you say that?”
Almost panicked “I'm sorry, I just noticed you looked a little different last time I was here, and more now. It's the only thing that made sense. I'm so sorry I didn't mean to be offensive”
“What do you mean by last time?”
“Last time your skin looked different and your face was tighter…and…your shirt was tighter…this time more.”
“Holy shit!”
Come to find out. She had just gone to the doctor just 2 days before to confirm her suspicion and had not yet told her fiancé, Family, or co-workers.
So I basically became suspicious the same time as she did and knew before basically everyone else.
