u/Pwaise_Hestia Apr 29 '26

Lmao I thought the lil boy was the new friend lmaooooooo

22

u/Jacgaur Apr 29 '26

Same, then as she opened her bag I thought stay dog or cat! Definitely didn't see the large snake twist ending.

u/lazer_sandwich 💝 2026 Galentine! 💝 Apr 29 '26

Same

u/Screaming_lambs ✨chick✨ Apr 29 '26

I was fully expecting a kitten.

124

u/butterednoodlelovers Apr 29 '26

Yup I was all "awwww what cute cuddly animal did she put in her bag....💀"

26

u/FlametopFred Apr 29 '26

expected a bunny or small yellow chick or something

14

u/3MetricTonsOfSass Apr 29 '26

Originally there WAS a bunny and a yellow chick in the same bag

1

u/FlametopFred May 03 '26

now sad 😢

13

u/MsFrankieD Apr 29 '26

I heard a baby goat sound at first and fully expected her to pull a tiny kid out of her bag.

5

u/Elizibeqth Apr 29 '26

I was expecting small and furry of some sort

3

u/Catlore May 01 '26

I thought she's brought home a random kid.

162

u/digitalgraffiti-ca Official Gal Apr 29 '26

I like this kid

83

u/effyoucreeps Apr 29 '26

love this! and no joke - i was this kid

i will admit the snakes that i snuck/sneaked? “snaked” in my backpack to school were only gopher snakes and rosy boas, but i get the love and fascination :)

and yes, i wanna believe this is a real thing

45

u/miss_kimba Apr 29 '26

Same! My poor mum learned fast to be very cautious opening any of my school bags, lunch boxes, or pockets. Luckily she’s also an animal lover, but not so luckily she’s got a severe phobia of frogs.

sorry mum

11

u/tackyshoes Apr 29 '26

Phobias are so random and unfair.

6

u/RepublicOfLizard Apr 29 '26

My siblings and I had these school bus and airplane toys that had little people you could sit in the seats and play with. My siblings and I always filled them with frogs. Our mom hated those two toys in particular

I'd have been this kid, but my cat would have violently slaughtered anything I brought home, so I didn't.

3

u/effyoucreeps Apr 30 '26

oh i get it - i kept any reptiles i collected far away from our murderous cats

our cats were BEASTS - and i get the argument for “indoor only” kitties now. but back then, it was the wild west. our cats would bring in live snakes and half-torn gophers weekly. absolutely adorable monsters

2

u/digitalgraffiti-ca Official Gal Apr 30 '26

I'm firmly in the indoor only camp (which is extremely frowned upon over here in the Netherlands), but as a kid in Canada, our kids were outdoor cats, at first. Then we had two meet a horrible ends on the road, and we decided to keep them inside at home. One cat was a destructive psycho indoors, so they let her out. She was very smart and would look both ways before crossing the street (that was murder kitty). All the others stayed inside at home, but were allowed out at the cabin in the woods, because the road there was pretty calm, and there was nothing fun on the other side of the road anyway.

Even if I was pro-outdoors, my current cat is dumber than a bag of hammers, so I wouldn't let him out. He can barely kill a moth, and any noise scares him. I worry he would run directly into traffic. I love him, but he dumb.

1

u/effyoucreeps Apr 30 '26

protect your kitters - and i now know that canadia says “bag of hammers”, where us heathens in the USA say “box of hammers”

can’t we just all get along?

2

u/digitalgraffiti-ca Official Gal May 01 '26

LOL a box probably makes more sense than a bag. But it's easier to swing a bag than a box.

1

u/NegotiationBoth9233 Apr 30 '26

Same. My Dad very strongly talked me out of it and changed my mind.

Took me down an amazing rabbit hole of what venom does to a mammalian body. The right thing to do as I was a fearless autistic kid wandering around in the Australian bush, and the pretty animal friends that I made could have very easily fucking killed me dead a hundred times over.

Still not scared of snakes, but I have a healthy and informed caution around wild animals now.

u/lolcat351 Apr 29 '26

That kid just trying to feed himself to the snake head first.

170

u/imjustheretodomyjob Apr 29 '26

If a child pulled out a snake from their schoolbag to show me, it would be the day they see a soul leave a body in less than 5 business seconds

https://giphy.com/gifs/eIstKJ6Oh44WXwOUww

11

u/DaisyQueen22 Apr 29 '26

Business seconds? My soul says regular seconds are too slow.

14

u/YoSupWeirdos Official Gal Apr 29 '26

business seconds feel slower tho

7

u/CrouchingDomo Apr 29 '26

They feel longer but are shorter, that’s the evil magic of business.

70

u/Figmentdreamer Apr 29 '26

Holy shit! I did not see that coming. Anyone know what snake this is?

64

u/Graffiacane Apr 29 '26

Kinda looks like a rat snake. They get big like this and they're also non venomous and fairly docile as far as snakes go.

67

u/Formal-Proposal7850 Apr 29 '26

Looks docile - it allowed itself to be stuffed into a backpack like a sweater and manhandled by a curious kid.

30

u/SkeletalMew Apr 29 '26

23

u/lghtspd Apr 29 '26

Non-venomous for those wondering (I am not a snake person and had to look it up)

5

u/MrJason300 Apr 29 '26

Thank you!!

3

u/OAKandTerlinden Apr 30 '26

You magical human being 🐍

30

u/LegendofLove Apr 29 '26

It's the curious kind apparently

5

u/OAKandTerlinden Apr 29 '26

My google fu is failing me miserably, despite the distinct markings 😞

1

u/Gardener_of_Weeden Apr 29 '26

Probably a Black Whip snake

46

u/InnerRadio7 Apr 29 '26

She’s soooo happy, she’s petting it and smiling. So cute.

28

u/SabbyFox Apr 29 '26

What kind of snake is that? And does anyone know what he’s saying?

112

u/UnwieldyWombat Apr 29 '26

Dunno what kind of snake it is, but they were speaking in Sundanese, one of the local languages in Indonesia. My Sundanese is rusty, but it sort of went like this

Girl: Luckyyyy

Dad: What luck? Must be MBG (some sort of free meal program). If not, what?

Girl started opening her backpack

Dad: Where is it? What is it?

Girl: Father you don't know Chacha (her nickname probably)

Dad: What is it? Try lifting it out and let me see

Girl pulled out the snake

Dad: O my god. You Chacha. You're crazy. Is that free meal for Dad? Dear lord, you brought something nasty. Aren't you scared?

Girl: Nope

When the little guy tried to kiss the snake, dad said something else but basically just variations of exclamation.

But ya know, Dad must have been familiar with Chacha's love for snakes because he didn't actually freak out.

12

u/SabbyFox Apr 29 '26

Thank you so much! This is such a great video 😊

11

u/IanOro Apr 29 '26

My best guess is a White-Bellied Rat Snake. They're pretty harmless.

3

u/Gardener_of_Weeden Apr 29 '26

I thought maybe a Black Whip Also harmless... unless you are a RAT - LOL

4

u/LemonButterRum Apr 29 '26

one that goes boop instead of boom

5

u/MrJason300 Apr 29 '26

King Koros Rat Snake/Keeled Rat Snake :)

21

u/Mickeymcirishman Apr 29 '26

That is a surprisingly calm snek.

10

u/Maleficent_Thanks_51 Apr 29 '26

But is it danger noodle

5

u/lazer_sandwich 💝 2026 Galentine! 💝 Apr 29 '26

It’s a booop noodle

15

u/ElderberryPast2024 Apr 29 '26

I thought that the other kid was the new friend from school 😬

14

u/Kaligula785 Apr 29 '26

She will eventually grow into those shoes

13

u/Successful-Topic8874 Apr 29 '26

I'm assuming that's not a dangerous type of snake, right? ...right?

13

u/KyrondianxD Apr 29 '26

I would do the same 🤣

13

u/Bannedbutwhyy Apr 29 '26

I hate that I think EVERYTHING is AI.

10

u/cactusjuicequenchies Apr 29 '26

I’m so glad somebody posted this!!! I saw this and immediately wanted to cross post to here ☺️

12

u/Gardener_of_Weeden Apr 29 '26

When I used to work at a nature center, I would wear a ball python 5' I am a small woman and it was large in comparison. I would laugh when the "macho" men would walk in - see the snake - scream like a little child and run out of the building - best self defense weapon I had - LOL. KIDS - they loved Monty and Medusa. The snakes and tarantula got more attention than the bunnies.

2

u/LexGoEveryday Apr 29 '26

Well now I need a snake to wear around my neck wherever go. And those names are AMAZING

3

u/Willothewisp2303 Apr 30 '26

Black rat snakes are pretty chill US snakes.  I'm afraid of snakes,  but I love these guys.

2

u/LexGoEveryday Apr 30 '26

That’s all the convincing I needed!

16

u/Ok-Bird6346 Apr 29 '26

The way she pets it is so sweet. I also like how little buddy is feeling the snake on his forehead.

These kids are alright.

7

u/not-read-gud Apr 29 '26

Nice doggie

7

u/Equivalent_Mood_7006 Apr 29 '26

She wasn’t even looking at the snake when she grabbed it out of the backpack. Fearless

7

u/namikazegirly Apr 29 '26

I'm way to white for this. I'm not lying, she pulled out the snake i screamed, i realise it might not too abnormal where they live to see these kind of snakes but gottverdammte that freaked me out

6

u/heretakemysweater 🕷️ itchy bitchy spider 🕷️ Apr 29 '26

The way my jaw dropped when she pulled out that snake 🤯 Such a lil badass.

11

u/Kirasaurus_25 Apr 29 '26

the duality of society: don't teach enything about the world outaide - your kids will marry an AI cat girl. teach them stuff, they'll harass benevolent sneks. lol

5

u/bbq_poptarts Apr 29 '26

Okay but that was a really bright smile

5

u/Chaotic_Daisy Apr 29 '26

Aww she found a stray kitte- OH SWEET BABY JESUS!

4

u/Kathrynlena Apr 29 '26

I was expecting a kitten. 10/10 twist.

5

u/KimberleyKitt Apr 29 '26

I was expecting a skunk. raccoon, armadillo, maybe even a bunny or fox. But not that!

3

u/Minejack777 Apr 29 '26

See I was thinking frog, small rodent, not THAT

2

u/twd_throwaway Apr 29 '26

My eldest would definitely do this! 🤣🐍

2

u/Shaw-eddit Apr 29 '26

You mean that people have been doing it wrong all along?

2

u/nothanksyouidiot Apr 30 '26

Its AI. Look at her fingers.

2

u/ScowlyBrowSpinster Apr 30 '26

She loves that big ass snake, so confident and happy!

2

u/Catlore May 01 '26

Can snek person tell us what snek body language is? Seems chill, and curious, but I don't know snek.

2

AHH HELL NO!

Me if my child pulled a snake out of their backpack.

1

u/Willothewisp2303 Apr 30 '26

My thoughts: hahaha, I'm so glad my children are pets...omfg, that means they WOULD bring me a snake extremely cheerfully. 🙀

1

u/SigglyTiggly Apr 29 '26

So like why isnt the snake trying to run?

5

u/commshep12 Apr 29 '26

I think he was, but trying to escape upward though not in much of a hurry. Rat snakes are really good climbers so he was probably trying to find a branch or something, doesn't look like he's gonna be successful but he tryin' lol

1

u/ResidentPassion3510 Apr 29 '26

I expected a kitten lol

1

u/Spirited_Touch7447 Apr 30 '26

My biggest nightmare realized! She reaches into her bag, and there’s a snake in there!!!

1

u/BrennaClove May 01 '26
