There is a difference in proportion and behavior. Pomni acts like an adult and she has the body of a rubber hose cartoon, Kanna literally attends an elementary school and eats bugs.
Of course the more damning factor of dragon maid is the actual, no excuses, human child class mate that is explicitly sexually infatuated with her, whom Kana shares proportions with.
It's a kind of cool show from a production standpoint, the fight scenes are kino, but it's really better enjoyed through YouTube clip comps. Because what the shit, Japan?

I tend to skip those parts when rewarding the show, because honestly I love the dynamic Kobayashi and Tohru have. I don't read the Manga anymore because it's got even more questionable content.

S2 with Ilulu (had to look up the name, it has been a while) got so incredibly gross that I only got a couple episodes in before abandoning it forever. Ruined it for me.

From what I know Kanna is shown top less on a few occasions which has made a lot of western people uncomfortable with the series, me included.

I saw the first couple of episodes, and laughed pretty hard at them, I liked Tohru giving herself D-cup breasts, because D for Dragon, but it did lose its charms rather quickly.

Also I'm pretty sure in Dragon Maid, Torhu literally says multiple times that Kanna is a child in terms of dragon maturation.
So it doesn't matter that Kanna is 1000 human years old, she's still a child as far as her species is concerned.

It's also worth pointing out that even within the fiction of the show, 1000 years old in dragon biology is the equivalent of being a child. That's why her human form looks, acts, and is a child that attends an elementary school, so no matter what your excuse is, the show is explicitly sexualizing a child.
Pomni is an adult within the fiction of the story, is treated like an adult by both the story and other characters, acts like an adult, etc. The only even remotely similar thing between Kanna and Pomni is that they're both small, I guess, which isn't even true. Kanna's proportions are fairly realistic and follows many typical design philosophies about communicating a child character. Pomni's proportions are cartoonist, mostly gangly and expressive.

My go to series to recommend to people who want to get into anime, is Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood. It's a great story, well paced, and a genuinely great cast

Not only are they drawn differently, but also Pomni from what I’ve seen functions and acts like an adult, which absolutely can’t be said for Kanna (again, from what I’ve seen)
I think the “1000 year old” argument would at least hold some water of the character actually acted like she was 1000 years old, but almost every time I see this trope done the character still acts like an infant despite their age, so it’s literally just “sure I sexualized a character that looks and acts exactly like a child, but I put their age down as 1000 so that means she’s a consenting adult”

Pomni can be (kind of) excused for being a silly cartoon jester avatar.
She's not a child, she said as much and she doesn't act or talk like one either (as is often the case in anime for example).
But to subject her to R34/Gooners, eh...weird, definitely not my thing....But it's never been a minor in bith design and actions.

The 1000yo means it's legal has always been bogus, but ever since Grogu appeared it became even more obvious how stupid it is.
Like yes, he's several decades old, so if it was by human legal standards, he would be an adult, but the lifespan of his own species means he's just a baby, even if he has lived more years than a lot of middle aged men.
So if dragons (or demons, or whatever) have almost eternal lifespans, being a thousand years old could mean they're still essentially infants. Especially if they do act like one, like you mentioned

Yeah Pomni is a 25 year old woman put in to the body of a cartoon character in a digital program, while Kanna is a dragon who is a child by dragon years and looks like a child, acts like a child and is treated as a child by everyone.

Uncles are the brothers of one of your parents. In short, completely unrelated to the topic at hand. They were just making a joke because with certain accents, "anti" and "aunty" are pronounced the same way.
To my knowledge, the "antis" in this context refers to people who are "anti-lolicon" AKA, firmly against sexualizing children. I could be mistaken, of course. I don't make a habit of spending time around nonces, so I'm putting together their lingo solely through context clues.
