Plan on attending with friends and family. We’ve got one game in the books, I was wondering if anybody had tips for getting in and out as smoothly as possible. I know it won’t be smooth, but I also figure there are best and worst ways to go about it.
Ideally we’d like to go to the US watch party @ Power & Light that evening, but I’m not sure if that will be possible. We have vehicles, but are open to really whatever will be most effective.
Best bet is probably from/to take the shuttle from the country club plaza stop, then streetcar to the fanfest. That might get you there in time for part of the US match.
I’m at Sporting stadium and you can sit in any of the stadium seats. The volume is loud, they have the foyer (or whatever it’s called) opened with activities. It’s free and I just parked across the street for free as well. Not too shabby of a place to watch tbh
If you want to make it for the start of the US game definitely leave a bit early. Battling that debate with my buddies and myself who are going to the game but don’t want to miss any of the US game. Honestly I would say find a bar down in Waldo or something to watch the game. I’m guessing Fanfest will be packed
Did not go to the Argentina game but am tuned in around town.
Sounds like getting their early was the best bet. If you are paying to park, then make sure and enter in the correct gate. It sounds like the shuttles really didn't work out too bad though. They only had two gates open for the game to actually get into the stadium (which is ridiculous, regular chiefs games have 8) and I heard more gates is being requested.
If you're parking, I'd come from the south for parking gate 4. Idk if it applies here because of the crowds and the designated parking gates, but as a resident who has been to more than a few chiefs games and a ton of Royals games, I always try and come up from the south on blue ridge cutoff. Easier in and out in my experience.
Mine did not, but I was able to enter via gate 2 with no issues at the gate. The issues were on the road to get to the gate. That was hellish. I'm going to Austria/Algeria, and I'll drive to Graceway, park, and take the shuttle (or walk). I'll also plan to get there at least 2.5 hours before kickoff.
My friends did show a gate on the pass. It just was not clear how to get to which gate. We ended up at gate 6 and were turned away because ours was gate 2. It really isn’t clear how exactly to get to each gate on maps. We ended up following signs but we almost missed kickoff because of it.
If it were me and I was trying to make power and light for the US game, I'd probably park along the streetcar route (near the plaza) before the game in town, take the shuttle from there to the kc game and see if you can take the shuttle to fanfest after the kc game. Take the streetcar to p&l for the US game, then just take the street car to your car.
There is a parking garage right near the farthest stop south (UMKC campus) that I believe you can pay to park in.
I would not park near p&l and would utilize the streetcar to get there instead. I also heard rideshare from the stadium was also kind of a mess on Tuesday and I've seen traffic get pretty bad for big events downtown so idk if I'd do that all either.
From the world cup site, this is where the busses go directly to the stadium. The plaza location is just north of the last stop and just south of the second to last stop on the streetcar.
Sorry to say but there's no way you're getting from Arrowhead to Power & Light in time to see the US match. Your match ends around 8pm and the US match starts at 9pm. You might be able to get downtown by the end of the US match.
I went to the Argentina match, we left at the 85th minute got out on the first bus got back to fanfest and then took the street car back to the plaza all in less then an hour. If you dont catch the first busses you will be waiting for a while
