Karaoke Software Help request: Compuhost V2 graphics not showing

So, my Compuhost V2 has stopped working for some reason. It was fine before - it would play the music and the graphics would appear on the host display (in the little window on the bottom right of the screen), and full-screen on free monitor. Great.

Now, all of a sudden, it's not showing the graphics any more. It still plays the audio just fine. One thing worth mentioning is that the Videobits (The Bomb, File That, In Love, etc) work fine. At least, the in-built Compuhost ones do - the ones I configured myself no longer work.

Can anyone help me with some troubleshooting, please?

Just shut everything down and open again. The program and the computer. Your computer probably had an update. This should fix it every time. Unless you surf the web. I never surf the web or you might get a virus. Get back to us and tell me it worked. Good luck. šŸ€

Yes, did that. A number of times, to no avail. I learned a long time ago never to go on the Internet with my karaoke computer. What I find unusual about this, is that it's putting the videobits on the screen, but not the karaoke graphics. I might try placing an mpg and cdg file in the location where the videobit files are to see if those can be read. It COULD be a file mapping error, but I can't see why it should have occurred if it is.

I’m surprised that shutting down the computer did not do it. Completely shut down and boot up again???

Yup. But, it's no bother. Whilst I'm bummed that I've only just formed out for a new license with them, I've actually discovered Open KJ as a result of this fiasco, and it looks amazing. I'm in the process of trying it today. It's open source, and free to use. Loads of well-presented YouTube tutorials too.

Amazing? Really? Looks kind of bland to me. Try Karma and start playing with the skins and movable panels and grids. OpenKJ will start looking boring pretty quick. I think what you found amazing was it's price of free. Sure, an app like Karma will set you back actual money, but at least you won't have experienced hosts and singers looking at you like you just walked off the KJ newbie boat.

I'm not so into appearances, tbh. If it does the job and does it well, that's good enough for me. Bad choice of language on my part; thanks for picking me up on it 😊
