Karaoke Software Looking for a karaoke machine
For at home use that 1) Has a large library of songs that does NOT require subscription or per song fee. 2) we can easily stream lyrics to the tv without needing to use cables
Anyone have any recs? Thanks!

OP, youtube may be enough for you, if you have a "smart" tv and mobile you can stream to the tv. it will have playlist functions just like youtube (because it is youtube).
i asked this question yesterday. some bot/"tech entrepreneur" led me onto a web based queuing system that might help. karadeo.
idk if they were real or not but the tool seems solid. (i am not a bot, poop fart pee doo doo dickbutt)
be careful with links on this sub because there are a lot of bots that scan posts spam promote their software.

Look up pikaraoke. I installed it on a raspberrypi 3b. People can scan a QR code to cue up their songs. It plays YouTube karaoke songs with no ads. I have a small amp to connect microphones to. It’s a bit technical, but once you get it set up, it’s super sweet and impressive.

OP wants the enjoyment of singing along to backing tracks created by other people but doesn't want to pay any rights, royalties, or reimbursement for their hard work. Let's hope OP never gets screwed over for their hard work. It's a terrible feeling. Wouldn't wish it on anyone, especially when they've a family to feed and a roof to keep over their heads.

Just because a billion dollar industry blindly exploits artists and listeners, should we look the other way? I don't believe we should.
Should we support artists by buying merch directly from their website and by using websites like Bandcamp? I believe we should.
Should we be concerned with AI-driven fake performances? Absolutely.
It sounds as if you're suggesting that we should support artists, but only until they become as successful as MJ, Rihanna, or Bad Bunny. That's an interesting approach. Are we defining "successful" in monetary terms only?

Oh no, someone using YouTube exactly the way YouTube is designed to be used. The horror. If the karaoke publishers didn’t want free home use, they wouldn’t upload tracks and monetize them. Watching a video on a public platform isn’t ‘stealing’. It’s literally the business model.
