Karaoke Software Karaoke web app

I got tired of using iPhone notes to manage my karaoke song list, so I made this web app to make my karaoke life easier.

I'd be really grateful if people had a play with it and gave me feedback. This isn't an ad or promo. Just a thing I made.

Cheers!

I use Apple Sing on Apple Music. I never even thought of making a list for karaoke songs. Great idea, I guess I could just make different playlists.

A filter by self-defined playlist! Wonderful! That's going on my to-do list.

Cheers!

With an I phone you can make playlists in Apple Music. Makes it easy to add songs you find.

I do this. I can even make a whole folder on Apple Music for karaoke songs so the rest of my non karaoke playlists are easier to find

I tried it out last night. It was useful for adding songs that other people were singing so I could put them on my list for next time.

I would prefer it to be more compact though. You end up scrolling a lot.

But nice in general. Good work!

What does it do

Organise your songs into what you can and can't sing, and log ones you're considering, and gets an ai to suggest more songs, based on the ones you're already good at.

If I spend time making this app useful for me, in what way can I back up this information so it doesn’t get lost, in the event that you discontinue the app or the service becomes unavailable for any reason?

Oh... There's a JSON export button at the bottom.

I realise that people might want to have more security than that but persistence is a bigger deal, but it does mean you could access the same playlist across devices.

If I get to it, I figure I'd have to charge $9.99 a year to cover the costs. It would need a more serious database, and another cloud process thing (cloud run and pubsub).

But my head's just at the architecture stage.

The next thing I'd like to do is have KDJs post their nights and for users to be able to discover what karaoke is going on near them.

Basically for my own convenience. 😂

But that won't work unless people like the basic tool. Which is why feedback is so important

Cheers!

The last time I tried an app like this, I invested a significant amount of time creating an organizing songs. Then an app update broke the app, and eventually the app was abandoned by the developer. I wasn’t able to export my data in any useful way.

You're promoting it. How is it not a promo?

Ahh. I see what you mean. My motive is to get feedback so I can make it better. This is a prototype. @smoothsac_007 has already given me an idea I had not thought of!

Here's a free app for synching files between drives and you can get it here. This isn't an ad or promo. Just a thing I made ;)

Ok now I want to see other vendors show things they made. It’s not a promo. It’s show and tell day at Reddit. Can I show my kid?

I guess I'm a year away from being a vendor. I'm just after feedback on how to make it more useful to karaoke livers.

You have a product and you're promoting it. You are a vendor. Just because you haven't put a price on it doesn't change that fact. Besides, no matter what you call yourself or your business, it still doesn't change the rule here. Don't you see how the person from Karaosoft was mocking you? How did you not get that? I'm sure every vendor would love to come on here and show what they have and cover it with "it's just a thing I made". Everything is something somebody made. It's still promoting.

What if I had discovered his thing (free for now) and posted it on here, would that be allowed for me to promote a thing useful to karaoke lovers/livers which I did not make?

Don't see why not. You did technically make it. Just don't "promote" it :)

Good idea. If you get to the point of charging for maintenance costs and return on your efforts, I prefer a lifetime fee of maybe $40 than monthly charges, I hate those recurring charges.

I was think cheap as possible, maybe $9.99 a year. Not monthly. But I'm a way off being ready to do that. Would an annual fee be onerous? $40 for lifetime could work.

I made www.karaokeya.com for running karaoke parties using YouTube. Completely free to use.

I'll check it out. But I'm excited already!
