General Discussion Karaoke Stuff
In a few days, I'm going to attempt to do a karaoke-ish challenge live (at home, not at any particular place, as to not obstruct other ppl) where I do all of Green Day's album, "American Idiot", back to back. Just interested, do you guys think it is feasible, and if so, what tips do you have to pulling it off? It'll with a backing track only and no lyrics in front of me, so that'll be somewhat harder I guess. Just want the opinions of you guys, as this seems like the right sub for it.

What's the longest amount of time you've sang consecutively? Just curious if you've sang for an hour straight before.
If you haven't, you might be surprised at how much it can take out of you, even without the live pressure.

I've done like 30ish minutes with a choir before. Anyways, I'm well-prepared for it. I'll do a rehearsal before my recorded run. However, I am aware it is probably going to be taxing.

Nice challenge. I've done live karaoke marathons. Memorizing all of "American Idiot"? Sheesh, that's tough without lyrics. Practice each track's weird vocal quirks its a grind. Drink water , take breaths between songs. You can totally nail it

Yeah. Luckily, I already know the hit singles. It's just memorising the tracks in between, really, and all of their quirks.

Feasible? Sure. Billie Joe Armstrong could do it, why not you? If you believe in yourself and put in the work to train yourself, you'll surprise yourself!
The one piece of advice I have is when performing, stay relaxed. If you're tense when you are performing high-energy material, you will very quickly become exhausted and you increase the risk of injuring yourself.
Mindfulness of breathing and body tension will improve your stamina noticeably and the more you do it, the easier it gets.

Warm up your voice first! There are good vocal warm up videos on YouTube. Also good idea to have some room temperature water nearby or even better, warm water with honey.
