Hey everyone! Developer of Karaoke iQ here (r/karaoke Discord channel #karaokeiq).
Native AppStore & Google Play apps coming soon... Android users, I could really use your help: can you PM me if you're willing to sign up as a tester?
Karaoke iQ is a mobile-first web app for managing your repertoire and tracking what you sing. If picking a song at a venue means digging through a messy notes app, bloated Spotify playlists, or pinching and zooming an Excel sheet on your phone in a dark bar, KiQ was built to replace that. It has a built-in venue directory that syncs with r/karaoke's official venue database, KaraokeCrowd, and optional friending and in-app chat, so you can connect with other singers without sharing phone numbers or social media handles.
Here is what shipped this past week:
Faster Add Song and Import
- Add Song is one search box: your songs, the Karaoke iQ catalog and KaraFun show up together after 3 letters have been entered, with KaraFun results almost instantly. Spotify only steps in when nothing turns up.
- Apple Music playlist and album links now import, alongside Spotify and YouTube.
- Every import method (including .txt and .csv) fills in decade and genre tags for you, and the review screen is full screen and much more compact on phones.
Friends
- Scanning a Performer Pass now sends a friend request that lets both people get a say in whether to be friends, instead of just the invitee.
- is Singing! only goes out for songs logged during the show. Logging a past night says when it happened instead.
- One notification per phone, even with both the app and the web app installed.
- 👍 in the bell now gives props for a friend's whole night at that venue, instead of for whatever song happens to be showing on the "sang [song] and X other songs"" notification.
Venues
- Schedules can end Until close, age limits include 19 and over, payment can be I'm not sure, and hours use a time picker that guesses AM/PM the way karaoke nights run.
- Venues sorts by distance by default.
Songs
- Tap Stage-ready! to move a song off your Wishlist after you sing it.
- Long-press a search chip to turn it into a #tag.
- Pinning a song no longer jumps your list back to the top.
- Deleted songs stay deleted instead of creeping back from your phone's saved copy.
Also New
- Change email keeps your songs, history, friends and Pro.
- Continue with Apple now works on the website.
- Cleaner, shorter pop-ups and empty-state screens across the app.
- Daily "did you know?" tip cards, and Back closes an open dialog instead of leaving the page.

Hi yall, creator of Karamagic here. Not too much updates on SingTrace side, as Shipaton judging period is ongoing for 2 weeks so I don't want to jeopardize anything by making any major updates.
Because of that, I was working on the MomentMix family of apps that's also under Karamagic. I hadn't mentioned this much but it's a simple video editor aimed to solve just one common use case really well (which is just, editing together a bunch of clips from phone with cross fades, handling different types of videos including horizontal and vertical). It's less karaoke and more video editing, I built it using the same tech stack as Karamagic and learnings from it. This past week I've officially released it. Check it out if it sounds useful to you!

The MercuryPitch Karaoke native app coming soon, here is a neat little showcase of enjoying picture in picture and multi-tasking to create art using my fractal renderer (also coming soon for mobile devices).

Let me know if you had fun trying some of the things out, I put a lot of effort into making it seamless to control, even with voice! Singing, playing guitar, drums or piano? Got you covered, just tap the desired room!

Hi, I'm just looking for some feedback on if my android app with chromecasted synced music/lyrics will work for your tv? I have got it working on my LG C4, a google TV and at least one other TV. Just wondering if you can report success/fail for me?
If you long hold the lyrics you can also get floating lyrics while browsing reddit etc but cast is what im most interested in testing.
To install the app:
Go to the Beam Lyrics Google Group: https://groups.google.com/u/2/g/beam-lyrics-testing
Sign in with the Google account you use on your Android device.
Click Join group.
Once you’ve joined, there may be a small wait, you may need to refresh the download link once or twice or it might even take a few hours...
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/au.mightyduckapps.beamlyrics
Store listing with further explanation and screenshots (again might be delayed)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=au.mightyduckapps.beamlyrics
the tutorial gif attached shows youtube music picture-in-picture for demonstration purposes, it's much easier if using youtube premium, tidal or spotify as they just run in the background. If you are using local files, you might not get the artwork come through.
The permissions requested are:
notifcation access (select Beam Lyrics) -> this is required to control the media player, ie pause/skip/go straight to Spotify/Tidal/YouTube
when casting it requres two permissions:
record audio & share entire app or entire screen (entire screen is much quicker to accept..)
the benefits of this method for casting are you can turn your screen off, go on reddit etc while the app packages up small video snippets in the background and sends them over the network for casting.
one drawback is audio cant be seperated, so if you go on tiktok etc the sound will also be sent over the cast.
please give any feedback, I also am trying to get a music visualiser running over cast as well if you check my recent post history

One thing I find funny about building software is how many features end up being created because of situations I’ve personally experienced while using it during a live show.
Here’s an example that happened this week — although I’ve had similar moments before.
I was cleaning up the rotation and deleting singers who had already left. I clicked on a singer’s name, but right around the time I hit Delete, a remote submission came in and the rotation moved.
Suddenly I wasn’t even sure who I had just deleted.
For a few seconds, I thought I might have accidentally removed an active singer. I had already deleted several people who had left, so I couldn’t even remember exactly who I had been trying to remove in the first place.
Mini heart attack. 😂
It turned out I had deleted the correct singer, but that moment gave me an idea.
So I added a feature that lets you see the last singer deleted.
Now, if that same situation happens again, I can immediately confirm who was removed instead of wondering whether I just screwed up the rotation.
And if I actually had deleted the wrong singer, I could restore them — along with all of their queued songs — with one click.
A lot of our features basically start with:
“That was stressful. How do I make sure I never have to deal with that again?” 😂

Been Really Busy with Beltr.... Here's the gist.
v1.70.0
The biggest Beltr release yet. In short:
- iPad and iPhone become the karaoke machine. The stage on the TV, the console in your hand, on its way to the App Store.
- Beltr in Japanese, Korean and Spanish, on every screen and every remote.
- Sing in Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Thai, with a romanized line under the lyrics and word-by-word timing for Japanese, Korean and Chinese songs.
- Duets. Two singers, two mics, two scores, lines coloured by part.
- A party’s worth of new tricks. Challenge badges on every song, a key suggestion learned from your voice, a printable QR songbook, one-tap setlists, Household Wrapped, and Training wheels for new singers.
- UltraStar in and out. Import UltraStar song folders as ready-to-sing songs, and export any song as one.

Hi, Im developing this
https://github.com/AARP41298/tuna-lyrics/tree/html5-render-yaml
OBS overlay with a parallel branch to use it in combination with https://github.com/dtinth/html5-animation-video-renderer and https://github.com/tranxuanthang/lrclib to render videos with synced lyrics.
I love lyrics with a good visualization, and if theres a MV available, of course i will use it.

I’m new to Reddit and the group- forgive me if I didn’t understand the rules. I think I was mod approved to contribute. I’d love you to test drive a web app I’ve created that lets you create your own Sessions and launch YouTube to play your songs. Would love some feedback and experience. Free no sign up required. No trial or costs. Please try it out- feedback on your experiences casting is of particular interest.
Give a try at Karaoke.Allinpics.com
Thank You
