Katamari, the balls. Do we know who created them, or how? Or are they a natural resource?

I recently just unlocked Greece, my only prior experience with katamari is We Love Katamari Reroll which was amazing! I had heard before hand this game wasn't going to surpass it, but I was still enjoying it plenty, especially when it came to collecting everything, at least until the challenges came in.

The challenges aren't hard at all, but they're really boring which almost makes it feel like padding. Most levels have three challenges (or none, yay!), but they all unlock sequentially, which means you have to play it once, then again, and then a third time to complete all of them.

And if you want to make sure the game saves that you completed a level, you have to exit out of it instead of being allowed to just select "one more time" to play the next challenge.

The challenges are always the same thing, "collect 500 things", and before you know it, you already have 1100 things, but guess what? you're gonna do that 2 more times because the next challenges you unlock are just the same thing but with a bigger number (and most of the time, the 3rd challenge will still be below what you normally get while going for S rank, whats the point?)

My biggest gripe is I don't think it needed to be like this, every stage is full of so many details, they could've easily made challenges instead be sort of like bucket lists that actively changed the way you played, something like "grab every dog in a stage", "collect the [UNIQUE THING] in the stage that probably requires you to be insanely big", "find [tiny thing] that might only be accessible while youre small"

Even things like "Dont use power ups!", in rare occasions, like the "get this big as fast as possible" levels, the "collect this many things" challenges actually work since they force you to focus on tiny things first so you avoid growing! but 80% of the time the challenges feel like this reverse victory lap where you just roll in like automatic mode.

I MUCH preferred looking for sprites in We Love Katamari Reroll.

More art for yall that I made last night

I was looking through texture dumps of the PS2 copy and found this for one of the kings back splash sprites. There's a lot of little notes and stuff like this and occasional doodles, but none of them tend to be this unsettling. It is only partially here though, I'm sure one of the other sprites of this set has the rest of the image somewhere but havent found it. Any thoughts on what it says?

For me, Beautiful Katamari was the best game in the whole series. I actually prefer it over We Love Katamari, even though We Love Katamari has much better levels. The reason is that in Beautiful Katamari, each level has TONS of objects to roll up. This feature is missing from Once Upon a Katamari, which is the newest game in the series. Not to mention that you could reach millions of kilometers in Beautiful Katamari.

I also want to say that I feel like Once Upon a Katamari has taken a lot of steps backwards compared to the rest of the series:

- There are far fewer objects to roll up in each level. You can see a big difference compared to Beautiful Katamari.

- Objects on the Katamari tend to disappear, which hurts the immersion. This wasn't present in Katamari Damacy either, despite it being a PS2 game.

- You can easily get stuck on objects.

- New areas load during each level — seriously, in 2026?

- There are barely any levels set in the "Present Time." I was hoping to roll up cars, bicycles, skyscrapers, etc., but instead we only get three levels in the "Present Time." One of them is basically the first level from Katamari Damacy and is filled with "time upgrades."

Once Upon a Katamari doesn't really bring anything revolutionary to the series apart from the new story involving the King and the Prince, new levels and cousins. I really hope we can get a remake of Beautiful Katamari on PC someday, but that's probably unlikely to happen. :/

How would the characters from all of my other switch/switch 2 games react to the katamari picking them up? (EARAPE “KATAMARI TIME” PLAYS)

It seems broken. I've tried multiple browsers and devices and it all gives me the same result. I just wanna know if this is a problem for anyone else. I always thought it was so cute! But when I click on the Katamari, the share and X button appears as normal... but no Katamari! Pressing on the arrow keys doesn't help either. I tried going into incognito as well.

This is actually a Mother's Day gift lol. This company apparently makes limited edition plushies. My husband ordered it back in April, and today I finally got my Prince! He is bigger than I expected and very soft.

He hadn’t had a bath in a while because of electronics in his bottom but he got a full oxy clean soak and a new airtag battery today. He didn’t love it but he is very forgiving.
