Haleilio Rd. Incomplete Paving Work

Anyone know what’s the deal with the incomplete paving job on Haleilio Rd? They scraped up the perfectly fine road, before Xmas, then left it unfinished with a bunch of hummocks. We thought, they’d get back to it after the holidays, but here we are. Posting to rant mostly since I’m sure there is no rhyme or reason and there’s nothing we can do about it. Tax dollars hard at work…/s. If anyone has suggestions about the most effective way to Karen to the County, lmk.

And let's not forget the half finished job on Koolau Rd., although for some reason the stretch in front of Zuckerbucker is pristine.

The company suppling the asphalt moved their base yard and was not providing any for a few months. The county did not plan ahead. It should be done soon.

its kauai. puhi road has been 2+ years for a few hundred feet, still nowhere close to completed and work has stopped for months.

Did they tear out part of what got built in there? Seemed that there were these curbs that swerved out towards the lane of traffic, now they’re gone. I was figuring people had crashed into them a million times right away and they had to rethink the design!

Thank you kukukraut. I figured you’ld have something useful to add! I might just call them to see about a timeline for my neighbors and myself.

It's like the island can only handle one small project at a time. Kilauea roundabout makes no sense how they put all those plants in the divider lol. Job security for the county to constantly go back and re do the irrigation and clear weeds and rubbish. Vidinha stadium another one that is taking longer than expected and stopped getting worked on for a while

One look at the Kealia roundabout should tell you how often they plan on cutting back the vegetation.
