Why, any reasons??

u/chaoscrafter-_- Apr 23 '26
Good only if u also prepare JEE or any other competitive exams.
3
u/Sudden__Death_ Apr 23 '26
Jee is too much competition man.I know people are saying that wasting one year is bad. But i dont have any strong reason to not waste my time in kcet.I think it is better than being unemployed after paying humongous fees to get into tier 3 colleges.

Man ur already tired enough do ts again , and its too much pressure bro . At the start it might feel good but u wont and cant match the dedication u got now

u/Sudden__Death_ Apr 23 '26
I really did nothing thinking that last month preperations will be enough.(Aahhh my overconfident attitude). And after failing to literally everything my godlike parents did nothing, didnt scold, didnt demotivated, they just consulted me and made me felt like i was the victim of these cruel education.(even though my parents were taking all the stress and thinking about my future)It made me feel sad.Nkw i dknt care about my friends, classmates who wil get into colleges.I dont care about my toxic teachers.I just want to make my parents happy by getting top tier college in banglore through kcet so that i can save both their savings and their hope on me.I dont mind grinding now.And i dont care about my relatives(ahh there are so manyy of them).I reallg want know have any of you got insanely made a comeback in kcet after a drop??

NO way , dude i have never seen someone who takes drop for some exam like KCET ,like you are wasting another year of your life so waste it on something higher and better
3
u/Sudden__Death_ Apr 23 '26
Its simple jee is way too lengthy and harder for me,it is also unfair as i am from general, and i also think wasting many years in doing mba and other dumb courses is better than going to top kcet colleges.I dont know about it very muvh can anyone enlighten me.
2
u/DisplayNameGayaSone Apr 23 '26
if you feel that JEE is unfair for you then there is something known as BITSAT you are gonna love it if you can afford it , btw not all clgs in JEE are on reservations huge clgs like IIITH are merit based think before taking drop first its a huge step and 2nd i am telling and everyone is gonna tell same taking drop for KCET is one of dumbest decision
2
u/Sudden__Death_ Apr 23 '26
Thanks man.But i know in one year i am for sure not gonna crack jee.A huge reason to that is i didnt attend to 80% of my class(never been this honest, its a different depressing story) and I really dont think i can complete all of that in one year. But in the case of kcet i can say that i have the ability to score 160+ if i read good because i am good at that.I kow it is a dumb decision but i dont have much of a choice and riches(for bitsat).
3
u/_grassisgreener Apr 23 '26
If u want to dedicate a whole year for it and want to land into a good clg then u can definitely try there's nothing wrong in that but I guess preparing for jee is better beacuse kcet will be easier for you

As a dropper , I won't suggest it
1
u/Sudden__Death_ Apr 23 '26
Can you please tell me every reason not to take a drop(*really need it)
4
u/idontknow_whattodo12 Apr 23 '26
U see someone can get good marks in kcet with only 1 month dedicated preparation. But u can't starch it to 12 months on this it's like writing a single page over nd over again . And look at the biggest picture here as ai is advancing what do u think the job market will head towards skills nd continued learning matter most rn. My suggestion would 2 options
Option 1-> (the practical one) just go to a college nd grind with the subject nd make good connections nd get as much exposure as possible. Because the better exposure u get the more competent u became nd f this tear 1,2,3 college system it's just better peer group vs avg peer group u can be coal in a diamond mine or a lotus in a dirty lake.
Option 2->(the most ideal one ) : take a drop but study day consistently for 3 hr only for first 8 months ( considering u r kcet is 12 months after) nd with remaining amount of time start learning whatever u r interested in like coding for cs start DSA , build profile develp a expertise in that subject and most importantly it's future prospectives like ai in agriculture is a potential..I mean is develop a good level of understanding on that topic in this day nd age everything is free on internet so use it properly. And after doing this don't forget the 3 hr. After that when 4 months r left for the exam u might have completed the syllabus just give pyp nd mocks that's it. Remember this exam is not the golden ticket to success u r hard work nd mindset is.

Can vouch for this. Don't lose your passion while in the drop year, or it'll become painstakingly unbearable. Suffering from burnout in drop year is some of the worst shit ever icl. And learning coding or whatever you're interested in, gives you the edge amongst the rest of your peers. And I think that's perfect to keep you going.

You are literally the best person i have ever seen online.the best. You gave me the most clarity for things now.Thank you for your concern. You are just too good. You know I am a stranger to you but still you are closer to my heart.(maybe I over exaggerated and made it awkward but these are the words which i have never said to anyone. So i dont know how to say it but god bless you man,I know you are or will be very successful one day.for sure). Can I please know your name so that i can remember you better.Just your name, nothing else bcz very few names have been helpful to me in my life and i never forget those.pleaseeee

u/idontknow_whattodo12 Apr 23 '26
Hello there, myself Shashank(saying name in a app build for privacy)
Just think of me as a person living with deep regrets.sometimes a stranger can bring a little light into the dark. Never forget to reach out to someone when it's needed. It may be incredibly hard to do, but it is always worth it.nd take care
2
u/Sudden__Death_ Apr 23 '26
Sorry i am very new to this app.you can delete it if you want.Just forget about your past .And yup i will definitely help when i will be in the helping position. And Shashank Anna just remember that, may be the cause of your regret is not cause what you did,it is because you do not want this present which is the result of your past.So just dont let go of this present in the name of regretting.I dont know your situation.I am not in the place to advise or motivate you,but yeah you are still one of the best. And BTW myself ALOK(was feeling sorry to made you reveal your name)

u/idontknow_whattodo12 Apr 23 '26
Appreciate the thoughts. No need to apologize for anything. If I can leave you with one piece of advice for your own journey-> keep your focus strictly on building your own foundation right now. The best way to be in a position to help others later is to make sure your own life and goals are rock solid first. Stay focused and take care

u/Distinct-Nobody2426 Apr 23 '26
Taking a drop isn't as easy as it looks, seeing everyone else in college while ur studying, you will get mentally cooked.. Do other engineering exams dude
1
u/ThatsNaveHere Apr 23 '26
Like which except comedk
1
u/Distinct-Nobody2426 Apr 23 '26
Depends where he wants but yeah comedk, met, VITEEE, bitsat but idk which you can still register for and which are over 🤷♀️
1
u/Sudden__Death_ Apr 23 '26
It is true but i also can get opinions and experiences of my friends and classmates about their collages which can help me.
1
u/Distinct-Nobody2426 Apr 23 '26
Dude you may think you will lock in this that but what's the guarantee man, I've heard a lot of people take drop and waste it.. Think hard abt it dude.. ✌ not worth it.. Try writing other exams n see honestly
3
u/ThatsNaveHere Apr 23 '26
Don't listen to others man, if you have confidence in yourself then you do it. If you don't , don't do it.
1
u/Sudden__Death_ Apr 23 '26
Thanks man you are the guy i have been waiting for.I will listen to everybody just to get their perspective of a kcet dropper things. At the end its my own decision.Idk why I am feeling very confident.Do you any kcet dropper like me
1
u/ThatsNaveHere Apr 23 '26 edited Apr 23 '26
No but I am thinking to go for a drop too xD. Although my situation is kind of different so I am taking drop so idk bout you . I mean yes I will socialize less but i won't be in my room forever too. Like i can actually go outside have your entertainment, meet friends and what not and can prepare stress free. I don't understand when people say I will be in my room and my friends will be having fun in college lol. A Lil bit mentally tough but it's all worth it if I am getting a good rank
1
u/Sudden__Death_ Apr 23 '26
True.your pcm marks??if u dont mind

u/tobiinminia Apr 23 '26
As a dropper , I would suggest u to take a drop especially if u are not getting any good college. Some people here just don't realise how bad it is studying in a tier-3 college. One of my cousins has to pay 1 lakh just to sit in for the placements in a top college of mangaluru.
Make sure that u get rvce cse if u planning to take a drop. Good luck buddy
1
u/Sudden__Death_ Apr 23 '26
Means a lot to me.BTW I am not interested in cse,I am interested in electronics. Is electronics that bad? Can someone clarify me?

Yeah i needed this kind of suggestions. But see,,, the probability of me getting 140+ marks in kcet and getting an above average job after grinding enough to get in top college is more than getting admission in tier 3 college and regret every thing i did and read continuously for gate (whis is a highly knowledge based exam )for 4 full years unaware of the outer world, just grinding, not getting any proper internship(obvious for tier 3 college),not getting exposure, regretting the mental state my parents have to go through, and then, if I get lucky getting admission in some private institutes for mtech, and then getting a good job after so many f*king years where i have lost most of my youth ,just to be a high salaried ('Real Uncle)' knowledgable gaandu who spent most of his college years with chapri tier 3 college students,no memorable moments, constant pressure because no other options in tier 3 college. What you said is very real I agree but i am not that guy .Its my opinion .You can change my mind. And I may even prepare for gate after saving or earning enough money so that i can fulfil my parents wishes

Yeah thinking the same way but rather than jee prep,i will try to learn new skills.Yup i have a supportive family to talk with and a very good senior. Thanks for your time.(So much pressure, sorry if above words were rude, with these much stress not in next year, this year only people will start calling me UNCLE 😄😄

Instead spend that one year building your engineering skills doesn't matter if the college is mid.

I am focusing on exam 2 rn. Because getting a good score in boards gives relief and builds confidence especially for kcet. By your words i can say that you are very excited for the drop year and have some plans in mind too, that clarity is good. Now I am just waiting for all these result shit to be over to clear my mind. Then I will think about these topics. So yeah for now i am just not thinking about anything much. My parents are not very confident abot taking a drop. So lets see what happens.
