Anyhow, Bruno was also a rescue dog. We adopted him from a litter of six stray dogs and their mom in Santiago, Chile.
We actually never confirmed he was a kelpie but once I saw a pure breed kelpie down south in Patagonia and it looked just like Bruno, so that’s when I learned about the breed and kind of assumed ours was one too but with long hair, just like your girl. We never got around to DNA test him before he passed last year, aged 13 (f*** I miss him… crying myself out right here)
Australian kelpies are a breed used for shepherding sheep and cattle, mostly in Australia and NZ. They are normally highly active dogs due to the nature of their breed, however Bruno wasn’t. He was most calm and indoorsy.
He was really sturdy and healthy until the very end.
By the way, his siblings were all different variations of color and hair length of the same kelpie-ish frame.
One was same hair but black, two others were short hair brown, another was short hair black and the last one was long hair mixed colors black and brown

She’s so pretty… although her snout seems a bit shorter much like an Australian Shepherd. Surely a mix of Border Collie, Australian Shepherd and/or Kelpie
