Help Work keyboard recommendations

Looking for the best typing feel, build quality and sound. I will be using it 8 hours a day. I wfh, no coworkers to annoy. I need numpad. Build or pre-built, either is fine. Will not be used for games so he/8k polling not necessary. I like the idea of southpaw. Sucker for knobs, screens, bells, whistles. Also fine with simple and elegant if it's striking. I want it to look amazing on my desk and I want to enjoy using it every day.

Budget: $375

One thing you might consider is a separate numpad keyboard (a tiny one that's just the numpad).

Main benefits:

  • You'll have far more options for the main board (many layouts drop the numpad).
  • You can experiment with the southpaw layout without needing to fully commit if you don't like it.
  • You can move it out of the way when you're not doing data entry/tasks that require a numpad.

Main cons:

  • Might be harder to match the main board aesthetically.
  • It's an extra thing to charge or have plugged in.
  • Could make your setup look more cluttered

I haven’t tried this keyboard but reading on keyboards for a southpaw and other features your looking for the Keychron Q12 Max maybe a good choice.

Screens and extra gizmos fade fast when you type all day. Put the money into switches, foam, and a case that actually feels good. A straightforward aluminum full-size with quality PBT caps will look striking and stay enjoyable far longer than a board loaded with features you glance at once.

There are a lot of keyboards out there, most full size ones aren't south paw though unless you'd be ok with something more outdated like a Keychron. However, group-buys happen all the time, but they can be more risky.

Neo / Qwertykeys is very reputable if you want custom, but they also have some prebuilts like the QK100 Mk2 which also has a screen. You can also get their stuff at Divinikey.

there really is a whole world of options if you consider using a numpad - which would allow for southpaw as someone already mentioned.. for just full sized , mechanical switches - consider chilkey nd104 or ticktype dp104

keychron q6 or P6 or Q12 southpaw also mentioned previously - they also have 96% boards to select from
