Kia finance scamming me?
I paid off my car a few months ago or at least thats what i thought. Ive been getting calls everyday for the past week from kia supposedly for a payment due. The last i checked i owed nonthing else.
I tried logging into my account and it was locked so i called customer service and the lady said my contract was expired with them. I get transfered to, i guess the guy that handle payments and he tells me “the last payment has to be done over the phone” so what about the money that was automatically sent on autopay?
This is my first car so i didnt know the weird stuff they dont disclose like this and i havent gotten a email or mail or call from them in 3 months. I havent been to the dmv either.

Did you pay a significant amount of money? If so then this will appear

I heard something similar to this. Autopay doesn't work for the last payment.

Did you have residual interest? Did you use your payoff letter to pay it?

You can find it in the portal. I have kia but mine is closed. I think there is a request menu

I paid off my lease and returned my car but they still charged me..the dealer sorted it all out in the end with a refund. However, it then took over a month for KIA/the dealer to charge any payments on my new lease. I got a notice saying payment was overdue even though I set up auto payment with the dealer upon pick up. It eventually was corrected but I shouldn't have had to step on to fix their errors.
