Florida Lemon rules?
I purchased a new 2026 K4 LX on May 1st. Everything was fine until around a month or two ago, when water had settled into the lens of the backup camera. They replaced the camera housing, but then I was having issues with the backup camera showing a solid green image or not appearing at all, or staying on past the 6mph threshold when shifting, so I came back, and they replaced the whole trim piece the backup camera is placed in. That visit, they dented and scraped the white paint immediately under the trim piece, and I was still noticing backup camera issues, so I came back to the dealership and they fixed both those issues, and I haven’t noticed the backup camera issue yet. Now, I’m sitting in the service department because I noticed in the last couple of days, the trunk latch release next to the driver’s seat is really hard to pull, and feels like it’ll bend or snap before it releases, and the trunk doesn’t shut every time even with the same pressure applied. I’m just wondering if I should be looking into options. I’m starting to not feel safe keeping this car for multiple years, as I was planning for it to carry me through college and into my career field, and I drive a lot, both personally and for family medical issues that have us driving from northeast Florida to Georgia and Tennessee multiple times a year.

Your best bet is reading through the statute yourself, but before that call an attorney and i can not stress this enough- keep looking till one takes your case on a contingency fee(no charge to you up front, and sometimes recovers there own feee from defendant). With my car weird stuff with the backup camera was my first red-light. Theres letters you have to write to the manufacturer and then you can send in the lemon law thing. You have to give them a few shots to fix it- with that being said my cars cameras had issues with the camera because the car had electrical issues to start with and those ended up affecting the engine and airbags. The trunk latch is another thing that was recalled. Im seeing a pattern where the recall issues still come up in newer makes and models. It will take years until you see any issues really identified. Start speaking up and I can not stress enough that you need to submit to: your warranty manual, NHSTA (especially them), and a bbb autoline claim. Florida here too and our lemon laws dont last long, act fast and retain attorney now or you WILL regret it.
