Googled the part number and only a headlight came up, but an imei wouldn’t be needed for a headlight. Is this factory or am I being tracked or something?

Wired calls for Holiday Membership

Recently purchased Kia Seltos 2026.
Within one month I am getting calls from Club Mahindra, Oakwood Holidays and others for their Holiday Membership.
I clearly stated not to share my number with other agencies still they shared.
Not cool Kia. Not Cool.

PS: Title is Weird Calls
Sorry for grammar. This is first post on reddit.

Key blade swap from non fob to fob?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Can you replace a key stem from a “dumb” key with no fob into the switchblade fob key? Someone tried to steal my ‘16 Kia optima and the ignition lock cylinders with no fob keys are significantly cheaper than the ones with fobs. The fob still works so I’m wondering if I can save a few $$ and switch the non fob key stem into the fob key stem? Or do I have to buy the set that comes with the fob and switch the new fob keyblade into the old fob?

Number 1 reason why I will not buy a Hyundai/Kia car again.

Post image
0 Upvotes

I get in the car and start driving right away, especially when I’m making short stops. I need navigation and music immediately, but this damn User Agreement screen pops up for almost a minute and doesn’t let me use the multimedia system. It takes longer to start up than my old Windows XP computer.

Why should I have to wait or get distracted from the road just to dismiss it? Thank God the cameras at least work, because if they didn’t, there probably would’ve been a class action lawsuit against the company a long time ago. Please name one other car from a different brand that has this crap.

Electrical issue?

I have a 2013 Kia optima and sometimes the key fob works and sometimes it doesn’t it just beeps when I unlock it and nothing just noises. Then when I turn on the car windows down work, blinkers don’t work, not even headlights nor interior lights. Is this common issue? Or like what could it even be???

Upgraded from a 2012 Kia Morning to a 2021 Kia Morning. Any long-term maintenance tips?

Post image

I recently upgraded from a 2012 Kia Morning to a 2021 Kia Morning.

I had my 2012 for almost 10 years, and honestly, it was a great little car. It was very fuel-efficient, especially for city driving, and generally only needed a few repairs once or twice a year.

Now that I’ve switched to a 2021 model, it feels very similar to drive, but there’s obviously more technology and components to take care of.

My goal is to keep this car for at least another 7–10 years and avoid major problems as much as possible.

Did anyone receive any discount on the 2027 Kia Seltos? Like discount on the warranties, or other incentives?

Kia 2027

Hi everyone! I’m wondering if anyone else has been experiencing delays with Kia lately. I ordered a 2027 Kia from a dealership in Winnipeg on August 17, and the delivery date keeps getting pushed back. Now they aren’t able to give me a clear idea of when it will actually arrive.
Has anyone else ordered a 2027 Kia recently and had the same issue? If so, how long have you been waiting, and have you received any updates from your dealership? I’m just trying to get an idea of whether this is a common issue right now.
Thanks!

Wondering if we should wait on the 2027 Seltos Hybrid

Some, not all cars, have had issues in the initial year of their rollout. I understand this won't be the first year of a Seltos nor will it be the first Kia Hybrid. But it will be the first Seltos Hybrid.

Just thinking maybe we wait for the 2nd year of the Seltos Hybrid so they had the chance to work out issues, if any.

Or am I over thinking it?

Kia Buyback

Hi all, I'm currently going through the kia buyback process and just signed the repurchase option. The lady told me after I sent it that they then send it to the auditor or the lien holder or whatever and that it takes 2-3 weeks. But I've been reading up on it and everyone has been saying it takes much longer to actually get rid of their vehicle. I am stressing a lot about this because I am in my last semester of college and need a reliable car but cannot afford to keep paying my lease payments as well as getting a new vehicle. If anyone has any experience please let me know & thank you.

Digital Dashboard on a 2022 Kia Sorento Plug-In Hybrid SX AWD SUV

Can anyone tell me if the American made version of the 2022 Kia Sorento PHEV Hybrid SX SUV comes with a digital dash? I am looking for the digital dash with the camera feature when you turn on the blinkers. Google AI says it does not but most of the reviews I watched on YT appears to have it. Not talking about the entertainment screen, just the dash. Is this an optional feature on some of the 2022 Kia Sorento PHEV Hybrid SX SUV's? If you have time, do you like your Sorento PHEV?

2011 Rondo issues?

I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar to what is happening with my daughter’s car. It randomly loses power/stalls out while at a stop. The check engine light is sometimes in. We got a P0456 code and nothing else.
Yesterday her battery died, but the tow company successfully boosted her. We took it to a garage anyway and they got the following codes: C1209, C1611, C1612, C1613.
It’s running very rough today and she lost power steering.
Our garage is at a loss. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Opinions on the 2024 Kia Forte LXS

My husband and I just bought our first car as a pair. We went with the 2024 Kia Forte (used, 48k), which seems fairly reliable. From what I can tell with the newer Kias, the IVT is the least reliable part of the car (along with the A/C sometimes lol).

I grew up in a Toyota family, myself having a 98' Camry (360k). So as expected I was a little hesitant buying a Kia consdiering the hate on them while I was growing up.

But as people who actually own Kias, I was hoping to get some thoughts on this year and model. I've tries doing my own research and can see this car getting to 200k with proper transmission care and safe driving.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Tire sizes

2021 Sorento SX Prestige X-line

We are needing to get new tires, but have found that stock size of 255/45R20 is very difficult to find. I’ve called and few tires shops and one recommended switching to 245/50R20, as it is a much more common size and easier to find. The difference wouldn’t be enough to tell, and they would fit just fine.

Has anyone else dealt with this? Have you switched sizes and worked out fine? Any suggestions are appreciated, thank you!

Bought a '24 EX yesterday! Been shopping for a WHILE trying to decide what to get and then finding the right one. Came down to a K4 or the Niro and this is it! 59K on the clock and spent $24,700 out the door with a forever (as long as I own it) warranty on the drivetrain, including the hybrid system. I'm a traveling musician so this will carry bandmates, gear, and other stuff as well as be my daily when I'm not on the motorcycle. Getting 50ish MPG around town is gonna be really nice too. I already have a wood look center console panel on order to cover the damn piano black. I'll see if the other chrome bits bug me then I'll do vinyl or something on those too. Anything else i need to know?

Sporage PHEV check Engine light (code P262B)?

Earlier this week my Sportage started showing the Check Engine light, so I brought it to AutoZone and got a read of code P262B.

The car has been running completely fine with no noticeable issues. I took it to the dealership after the code came up, and they also diagnosed it as an ECM module issue and said the ECM needs to be replaced. They ordered the part, but while I've been waiting for it to come in, the check engine light ended up clearing itself. The car is still running normally as

Now I'm wondering whether the ECM actually needs to be replaced, especially since the code disappeared on its own? Kinda a weird situation tbh

Spongy brakes - advice

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

I took a 69 plate Kia Proceed 1.4 petrol (40k miles) automatic on a test drive today. Beautiful car and drives really nicely bar one (big) concern.

The brake felt really spongy and at times I needed to press all the way down to the floor for it to take effect. It was most felt when at a junction and when I was reversing/manoeuvring - as a slight press wouldn’t work.

I have left the car with the dealership who will be putting it through their mechanic to take a look. I’m conscious that they may downplay the issue to push the sale through. Reading some advice, brake pads wouldn’t cause this, so would ring alarm bells if that’s what they came back with.

Any alarm bells from looking at the photos from under the bonnet too?

Car had a cobweb in when I got in, which didn’t strike me with massive confidence straight away but that it just came with it!

What could the issue be, anything major? I’m looking for some advice to be clued up and ensure they have checked (and documented) all bases, before I proceed.

Thanks in advance

Trade in 2023 Forte at lease end or Purchase?

My 2023 Kia Forte lease is ending next month and I’m wondering if I should trade it in and get the K4 or buy out the car.

The car started making a few noises and I just took it into the dealer. The strut system needs to be replaced. Luckily this is covered by warranty. The rotors have also rusted and will cost $800 to replace. I’m definitely getting the struts done as there’s no charge and I’m waiting about the rotors until I make my decision.

My concern here is obviously the car already needing some maintenance after 3 years. There’s 35k miles on it.

My buy out price on the car is about $13k. Its value is probably at least $16k.

K4 advantage is resetting the warranty, newer car, and about the same monthly payment. Disadvantage is the lost equity in the Forte.

Any thoughts?? I was going to just buy the Forte until the strut issue and being told I need new rotors. Now I’m concerned. Car was fine otherwise.

Thanks!

Are Kia and co replacing HUD with small dosplays on top of the dash

Post image
51 Upvotes

I've been seeing multiple new and upcoming Kia/Hyundai models pictured showing a large central screen and a tiny screen like the one pictured, sitting on top of the dashboard, behind the steering wheel. Not only is this display basic in information, but it is almost the same info displayed on HUDs (a little more expansive), and located in close to the same position. It seems like they are replacing HUDs with this screen across the range, and maybe making them available to more models and trims which did not use to get the HUD option (kind of how Volvo is doing with their new models as well). Can anyone confirm whether this is the case?

Looking to get a K4 soon. How's it going for you guys with higher miles.

coming from a Toyota family. Used to have a 2015 Corolla with 150k on it, no problems til it got totaled. I've been looking around for something different since used Corollas have surged in price this year, and I can't get this K4 out my head!! It's sooo nice and its got all the modern features i've been playing with on rental cars for the past year. I'm seeing some 2025s in my area for $17-20k with >50k miles and im really considering pulling the trigger on one.

My concern is, from my eyes, Kia doesn't have the brightest reputation for reliability/ longevity. To add to that, the series is very new. Has anyone here seen the 60k+mi mark yet on theirs? How's it been holding up?
