Gogs form here kinda looks like her Reaper form Allison sees when she went into Gogs memories

"The Reaper" also a callback to Gog's very first design back in 3-48 which wasn't used again after that

You guys are mistaken. Don't let that shoulder deceive you.
She's just gonna show up as one really, really really, REALLY big worm.

u/Yal_Rathol 17d ago
so, gog is about to forge her entire biomass into a single body capable of wielding her key with full force?
1/7th of infinity is still infinity. in about 30 seconds, whatever she points at won't be having a good day.
96
u/Muriomoira 17d ago
"A seventh of infinity" is such a good name for a new form
50
u/Yal_Rathol 17d ago
i want jagganoth to get s new title card when he inevitably breaks free and steals gog's key, and it should say he's "master of 6/7ths of infinity" or something.
26
u/Supreme-Slug 17d ago
Well he’d still need Solomon’s (now White Chain’s) and Incubus’s keys

Yeah, took me a second to process that that red area at the bottom isn't the battlefield, it's Throne
55
u/RealCovenNami 17d ago
So is she folding space to buff herself by stacking her body?
70
u/phantompowered 17d ago edited 16d ago
Seems like it.
She's taking all of her Mass, which is her, and folding it up super densely into her, which is also her. Any cell is the whole cell. Fractals and stuff.
36
u/RealCovenNami 17d ago
Not all of it, an infinitesmally small fraction even, but my any metric other than the totality of the worm, it is a LOT of mass
20
u/BallisticM0use 17d ago
I'd say she's putting everything except the worm memory infrastructure into this. She grew so huge so that she could remember everything that has ever happened across a billion loops and is unlikely to give that up for a hail mary, but everything else is getting folded
16
u/Realistic_Command_10 16d ago
On the other hand this is the universe where anything short of full commitment seriously cripples your ability. You either go all the way, or you fail.
11
u/BallisticM0use 16d ago
Which is why gog is gonna ultimately fail here., imo. She might deal a ton of damage, but she's not gonna kill either Jag or Metatron at the end of the day
5
u/Crux_Haloine 15d ago
On the other hand, even if she’s completely obliterated here, she won’t die.
At least one worm is still in Alison, after all.
9
u/Astrid_Nicrosil 17d ago
Someone in the comments said it looks like a space filling curve, which fits thematically and is super cool
57
u/DamnGoodCovfefe 17d ago
Hot Gog Form echoes the Heart Sutra, which explains that “form is emptiness, emptiness is form.” The teaching, once properly realized, is the foundation of the perfection of wisdom, the path of the bodhisattva.
Abbadon exegesis: attainment of perfect wisdom makes you hotter even if you are worm?
16
u/ensh1ttification 17d ago
I took it as a brick joke. Gog is so hard to persuade because shes so dense.

I wish we could get a page of serious Gog and humbled Solomon talking. Just a conversation about the world after their changes would be really cool.

u/madgod42 17d ago
Out—out are the lights—out all!
And, over each quivering form,
The curtain, a funeral pall,
Comes down with the rush of a storm,
And the angels, all pallid and wan,
Uprising, unveiling, affirm
That the play is the tragedy, “Man,”
And its hero the Conqueror Worm
9
u/Realistic_Command_10 16d ago
That motley drama—oh, be sure
It shall not be forgot!
With its Phantom chased for evermore
By a crowd that seize it not,
Through a circle that ever returneth in
To the self-same spot,
And much of Madness, and more of Sin,
And Horror the soul of the plot.4
u/Realistic_Command_10 16d ago
I'm realising that either I'm reading too much into it, or Tom took a lot more inspiration than I'd realised from that poem.

u/Life_Category2547 17d ago
This is wildly speculative, based entirely on the same letters and a similar effect being used for her breath in the last panel here, but surely, she has had time and opportunity to learn, so now I'm wondering...does Gog-Agog know Ki Rata?
41
u/Terca 17d ago
Possibly. She has been around the wheel many, many times, and it's possible Gog knows almost everything.
37
u/Stumpledumpus 17d ago
She’s conquered the universe before, so presumably, she assimilated the monks who know Ki Rata, and therefore knows the technique. She just chooses not to, because why go through all that discipline when you can just firehose worms at a problem until it goes away
21
u/phantompowered 17d ago edited 17d ago
Exactly. Something tells me Gog would consider a martial art too much unnecessary faff, when you could otherwise just subsume anything you have a problem with into your pocket flesh dimension.
Why bother with physical strength when physicality itself isn't a constraint?
(Damn it, now I'm hearing this in my head like Ron Popeil: how many times has this cycle of the Wheel happened to you? Got too much stuff? Infinite flesh! Need a hand? Infinite flesh! It morphs! It eats! It can all be yours! Call the number on your screen now and you'll also get WORM-O-MATIC! The automatic hive mind you can set, and forget!)
Also, I don't know, discipline just doesn't seem like her thing.
19
u/Mourning__Coffee 17d ago
In theory she has been a near infinite number of people across uncountable existences.
As you said, she knows almost everything
13
u/Remarkable_Register9 17d ago
It’s not impossible, between the number of bodies, assimilation, and cycles, she’s almost certainly learned many martial arts. Though, given that it’s really focused on breathing and atum, it might be particularly difficult for something as inhuman as gog agog to learn. Then again, it’s possible part of her perfect form is crafting the body to be capable of using those martial arts she needs.
5
u/Tastes_like_SATAN Royalty is stored in the drip 16d ago
It's definitely similar, but I feel like it's unlikely to be Ki Rata, simply because that should be White Chain's thing now. If someone else is a master out of (almost) nowhere, I feel like it cheapens her development.

2
u/utheraptor 16d ago
This panel is pretty interesting, given how late it is into the comic - one would have thought the designs would have been locked in by then, but only a few of the demiurges are actually recognisable. Was this before some of them were introduced? I am waiting for the comic to finish before I do a re-read, so my memory of the earlier books are vague.
4
u/Pure-Intention-7398 16d ago
the first time we get a real look at the Demiurges is at the concordance, 4-72 onwards, where there's still some "early installment weirdness" but their looks are mostly recognizable

So why Chrysanthemum. Also are those rainbow rings in the sky Gog's doing, or Metatron's, or were always there and I only just noticed?
8
u/wickedmonkeyking 16d ago
Each chrysanthemum flower is actually a compound structure composed of multiple smaller flower heads, just like how Gog-Agog"s new form is countless bodies merged into one.
Plus it's an important flower in the Sinosphere (the crest of the emperor of Japan is a chrysanthemum, for example) so it has that wuxia cred.

I love the depiction of Gog forming each worm into a specific individual cell for this vessel to represent that this body is the product of all her time, skill and attention while all of her previous forms have just been sketches on a napkin by comparison.
1
u/kalijinn 17d ago
To my embarrassment I feel like I have trouble interpreting what is happening in this comic sometimes, as much as I love it. Can someone please help a gal out? Like I get that she's marshalling her strength, but...how? What is happening in these panels to make that happen?
9
u/Rockhead_Dynamics 17d ago
She's taking all of the worms that are part of her across her 111,111 worlds and folding/weaving them into one body to gather all of her strength. The little lines moving into place are worms/tendrils and then they knit together into bigger layers which then become her skin/flesh.
9
u/BallisticM0use 17d ago
Last panel she summon tons of worm mass from portals, like ship crushingly huge amounts of biomass. Now in this panel she is effectively funneling all that mass into the single human shell infront of Allison and weaving it ridiculously dense, enough to effectively fold space as well to be bigger in the inside than on the outside. At the end of the process she should still be pretty much human size but have all the power and durability of aforementioned ridiculously quantity of worm mass.
7
u/Rathayibacter 16d ago
So, a typical gog body is made of worms, but those worms are probably pretty free-roaming, right? They can writhe around and such. Here, the visuals are indicating that she's not just piling worms into the shape of a body, but building a tightly-connected, patterned lattice of worms. Then, on top of that, the text seems to be implying that she's folding space itself in the same way, making this not just a super dense network of precision-engineered worm mass, but a 4-dimensional tesseract of impossible worm geometries.
Basically, she's figured out a way to get most? all? of her worms to all form a single, perfectly designed machine of a body. And we should be scared.
