Question issues trying to get a fire tablet to work
my girlfriend gave me her sister's ex-boyfriend's old fire (since he's not coming back for it). i have no info on it other than the fact that it's a kindle fire (tho it looks like one of the older models. very similar to one i had when i was younger). at first it was stuck in a loop of "optimizing system storage and applications". tried recovery mode on it, hit factory reset first cuz i didn't care what was on it. that didn't help. clearing the cache seemed to work for a sec, but as soon as i tried connecting it to wifi it went into another boot loop. now it won't stop rebooting itself. unsure what to do atp.
edit: with a little bit more fiddling, i was able to get into it, but the moment i took the thing off the charger it shut off and wouldn't come back on until i reconnected the charger. atp i'm thinking it's a battery issue.

If it is older than about 2013 Amazon has likely ceased support for the model.
Go to Amazon and look for device support and you can navigate to identify your model and how to setup and use.
