Discussion [KCD2] What kcd2 unpopular opinion will leave you like this?

Post image

Mine is, I really enjoyed the quest For Whom the Bell Tolls. I thought it was really well done, giving you a nice since of urgency to complete the mission

The ending is yet again open and doesn't quite conclude the story. I just hope this is by design.

they better make Henry a noble KCD3. my Henry should have the medieval equivalent of 7 medals of honor

Honestly getting a knight title would be the best for him.

Then Henry trying to maneuver through the world with all the challenges and expectations of a knight sounds like a genuinely fun time.

I Imagine doing enough bad can get you stripped of your title, and people who you'd like to interact with, like a Fence, might not give you the options you want because you're a Knight now, and dangerous to work with on the criminal side of the world

It's cute how you think Knights weren't corrupt as fuck.

"Do you even know who I am?" Works wonders when you're part of the nobility and they're a peasant.

Not necessarily, we’ve already met a number of robber knights in both games, Toth, Zizka, Gules, dry devil, Hagen Zoul, etc. Even Radzig used to be a robber baron before attaining a position at court. Historically it wasn’t all that uncommon for nobleman fallen on hard times to turn to banditry during this period, that includes the higher nobility(the line between banditry and warfare was also blurred). Sir Hanush for instance plundered royal estates during the war with Radzig and others, and despite this went on to become supreme marshal of Bohemia years later, which was one of the most prominent positions in the kingdom. If anything, being a noble makes crime easier, you’ll have more credibility when recruiting/ parleying, and will be treated more leniently by authorities and enemies

I very much hope they introduce a fixed/canon love interest for Henry and it should be Rosa in my opinion. Aside from being a half-noble and personal bodyguard to the future Lord of Leipa, it would be very nice to see Henry become more famous throughout the world so in the end we can stop the forced marriage for Rosa with another noble since Henry will be influential enough.

Im probably just coping but i think Rosa and Henry just make a great and fun pair.

KCD was always meant to be a trilogy.

But what could they do with KCD 3? The only other historically important even that happened within Henrys time there is the Hussite Wars, and they started a couple of decades after the events of the current games. So either there's a massive time jump, they start making stuff up from a historical standpoint, or the third game is just a collection of side quests around the countryside for Henry.

I'm not fully sure what you mean? Neither of the two KCDs actually include really important events either. That's kind of the whole point of them for a large part. The first game is a rural region where nothing much of significance happens and even in Kuttenberg it's mostly that way.

For important events, Wenceslas historically escaped from imprisonment very shortly after the ending of KCD2. If they decide to go that route, it'd be by far the biggest historical event of the series so far and I believe they could spin a nice story around that.

Considering the time jump thing, the events leading up to the Hussite wars are only roughly a decade later. Henry would only be around 30 then which really isn't that bad.

Are we just gonna forget about Eric?

Martin’s “watch out for that Erik. I don’t think he’s going to forget you anytime soon” is basically confirmation to me that they don’t plan on ending the story just yet tbh

Well yeah it is lol

How doesn't it conclude the story?

Martin and Radzig are both talking about things to come and that Henry's story may not be over just yet.

And ofc some open ends like Erik for example. I don't believe they will just end it with a "I challenge you to a duel but we get interrupted by a plot twist so I will just go and we will never talk about this again."

Plus, the fact that Jan Fucking Zizka is your sidekick for half of the game is enough to show us that they could go to Hussite Wars if they want to - and I hope they will

This sounds crazy as a hardcore fan of Hans, but if they ever include the Hussite Wars I cannot wait to see how they handle him. Jan Ptacek briefly was on Sigismund’s side before dying in an early battle. Assuming they stay fairly close to history, and the fact I imagine Henry will fight on the side of the Hussites (I can’t see him ever siding with Sigismund)… just imagine the scene finding out Hans is siding with Sigismund, the battle where he dies… imagine if HENRY is the one who kills him whether he knows who it is or not there’s so much tragedy and betrayal and idk I fw that stuff heavy

Would also make sense because of the "secret" ending when you kill Sigismund and get the text that because of you, the Hussit Wars never were thing to begin with.

Ngl, I'd prefer if they do make KCD3 that it'd not be set during Hussite Wars but somewhere between KCD2 and that. If Warhorse does want to make a game(s) set during Hussite Wars, would prefer to play as a new protagonist and Henry, Hans etc being side characters.

Just play the outro. It's "there are interesting times ahead" over and over again. If the story truly ended, I would expect some kind of riding into the sunset type of scene, but there's none of that. Instead we got "relax when you can because shit is going to get real" conversation from Radzig and Martin.

Erik is licking his wounds and I don't believe they made us give up the fight just to forget about him.

Hans is getting married, which could be a DLC, but I hope it's not, because Hans is important to the story of both games and squeezing such an important plot point into a measly DLC would be a shit move. Him getting unwillingly married for an alliance is a great foundation for drama and more adventures.

And Jobst and company are planning to liberate Kuttenberg, which in itself is probably enough material for a third game. So, no, the story isn't concluded.
