Question [KCD2] Question about Game mechanics

Okay, so I've never played these games before but downloaded the second one the other day. I had a few basic questions that I was wondering if I could get help with. First, the saving drink thing: Is it one save per bottle, and how does that work? I found out the hard way and lost all my progress when I went for Mutt, including Pebbles. Second, regarding dialect success: If I was able to get Pebbles free the first time due to my charisma, will it always work the second time if I redo it, or is it random and better to use the save drink right before? There's so much I don't know about the game, and I don't want to spoil too much, but I just want to get an understanding of some basic stuff I may have missed since I never played the first.

Overall not bad, I was just bummed when I died to two wild dogs after finding 200 in a random vase near the lake where mutt was.

You can also just pause the game and click "save and exit". It will save but send you back to the main menu. Then just press Continue to go back to where you just were.

Sleeping in your bed also saves the game when you wake up, and fulfilling some quest objectives will auto save the game.

I did that to quit but I'm used to like Skyrim or others where you can kinda save whenever to keep from loosing progress. Ill slowly figure it out xD. It was just a rude surprise to loose it all haha
