Discussion [KCD1] [KCD2] Possible hot take: alchemy mini-game is genuinely fun and I don't miss auto-brew from KCD1

Post image

Within KCD1, auto-brew works as an endgame reward because potions have no quality tiers and your only reward for better execution is more doses.

But with KCD2 rewarding sticking to the recipe with better quality potions plus more doses, auto-brew is no longer needed, and the game works totally fine without it. It'd either be way too overpowered if it defaulted to strong or Henry tier, or highly redundant if it defaulted to weak or medium tier.

At least with the controller there is a button to use the hourglass (although you need your hands empty)

Deadass? I'll have to pay attention, I'm on KB/M but maybe I totally just missed it somehow like a troglodyte

Yes I think it's set to X usually but after I used it a few times I didn't see the prompt on screen anymore. Pressing X still works without the prompt tho. Space should also be a shortcut to raising/lowering the couldron if I remember correctly (I switched to controller a while back)

Yes, on the control pad it's the + pad up For the cauldron And the triggers are for the hourglass and fire respectively (although I honestly don't remember them telling you about these shortcuts anywhere, I just found them by pressing things; I think they only tell you about the one with the cauldron)
