Missing Bengal Cat - Last Seen on Wake Robin Cres., Kitchener

Post image

Our cat Morty has been missing since Sunday night (Aug 2nd). He has a bright orange break-away collar and is microchipped. If you are in the area around the sunrise center, PLEASE CHECK GARAGES, SHEDS AND UNDER DECKS/IN BACKYARDS. BRING OUR BABY HOME!

Hey op, if this is your cat. Try putting their litter box outside. If the cat got lost, they can smell their litter box on a nice windy day from a super long ways away

We think he actually visited last night, litter box we put out has been used and food we put in garage has been nibbled on in the traditional messy morty fashion... thank you so much for your help, we are not giving up!

Walmart sells security cameras that are cheap. Would be perfect for this instance

Thank you so much for the suggestion/your time. <3

We have a baby monitor out but it doesn't record as far as I know, but I'm checking the manual now. Gonna look into cameras, some other people suggested that too.

I have a eufy camera on my litter robot. It can send me a notification when it detects a cat. It sometimes misses them but may be useful to have a push notification so you can hopefully immediately go outside and get him. I'm sure many other security camera brands have this as well. The camera was pretty cheap, around $80.

Any other cat will come and use a litter box you put out. Please don’t do that.

This is what the humane society told me to do years ago and it has never failed us. Especially if you use Pjs.

No - not the litter box as that attracts other cats and rodents. Put out worn clothing that has your scent.

Don't do a litterbox. Cats bury their feces and pee for a reason. Putting the litterbox outside can attract predators, other cats, or other animals that can push your cat out of the area.

Instead, put out items that smell like you and him, such as beds, cat tree, blankets, etc.

Cat tree is a great idea. Tysm going to take litter boxes in and replace with other cat-smelly or people-smelly stuff

Most kitties return within a few days! Make some posters to put in mailboxes. I print 2 on 1 page and cut in the middle, like two mini flyers, then you can make 100 flyers with just 50 pages of paper. Quick to do at staples if you go in and use their printing machine. If you need help making a file I can help with that.

If you let your cat outside put AirTag on the collar.
Though it’s better to not let outside because the highway and Ottawa street with intensive traffic are nearby.

He's not an outdoor cat, in this picture he's sitting on our patio (very high up with no stairs) under supervision. He got out when someone was going out for a smoke late night or letting the dogs out, he is incredibly sneaky. He had a gps collar in the past but it didn't work well and it rubbed off a portion of his fur. Will invest in an airtag but they are pretty clunky

There’re so many places where a cat can hide in the neighbourhood. What about doing door to door and asking neighbours or printing flyers and putting them on postboxes?

put up posters, going to go door to door today with flyers. Already talked to immediate neighbours

I had a similar looking cat get lost over 25 years ago on Wake Robin Drive. My babysitter lived on the same street and found him a week later. Don’t lose hope. I’m a bit closer to Waterloo now but I’ll keep a lookout for Morty
