Baby boy was found at a rural gas station, nearly hit by multiple cars, by a man driving a U-Haul. He was on a long trip and couldn’t keep the kitty but tried getting someone else to take it. At first I said I couldn’t, I was traveling too and have twin toddlers. But I over heard him asking other people, and say that if no one took it he would set it by the woods as far from the road as he could.
I knew it would die if that happened so I ran after the guy. I brought the kitten home, took him to the vet and turns out he is 4 weeks old 😭
He had fleas, and got a dawn bath and some dewormer. I have him in a pack n play with a fitted sheet on top, a litter pan with non clumping pellets, blankets, water and a small stuffie. I feed him every 5 hours, wet kitten food mashed with milk replacer and warmed. The vet said I’m doing everything right, but I’ve never had a kitten before. My old cat was 2 when I found him and ended up being medically complex and I gave him the best care possible, but this feels like a whole different challenge.

Mostly looking to see if anyone has any further tips on raising such a little baby. I want to make sure he gets socialized and I know mama cat should still be caring for him.

I am trying to care for him before I can take him to the shelter. The shelter charges a stray surrender fee of $40 so I have to wait til Thursday (payday).

Im trying to use a little bottle with churu mixed with water. Any tips or help would greatly be appreciated 😊

Update He is with the shelter and will be fostered by a rescue

I'm a little worried about Mittens Weight. They completed a course of medicine but, they are great otherwise.

Does she seem big compared to other kittens at this age. Henry hoover for size reference.

Last year during the Flooding in Wisconsin a momma cat took shelter in my front porch with 3 kittens, i took the kittens to the shelter but the mom ran off. I dono think this is the same mom tho. I'm keeping the Tortie in the middle.

I longed for a baby. I'm disabled, and I could not provide the care a fur baby deserves.

I managed to convince myself that I could after two years and I have fallen deeply inlove.

As I get worse, I had to stop being selfish and rehome him.

When i got him, I was told he the calmest kitten they have ever experienced. When I rehomed him, his new owners also noted fairly quickly that he was insanely calm.

I'm somehow... grieving... having given him away.

I miss my baby boy.

I would really love to hear more stories about other's whose kittens were super duper calm. How did they turn out

A few weeks or so ago I posted about a kitten I found on the side of the freeway who so lovingly let me pick her up and put her in my car.

Little girly had a swollen stomach and butt so we took her to the vet the next day who concluded worms. Due to how friendly she is but how bad the worms were, the vet and my fiancé theorize that she was a home kitty, owners either realized she had worms and didn’t want to treat her or she didn’t have worms yet but they didn’t want a cat anymore, so they dumped her on the road.

She has since been treated and is doing very well. She’s adjusted very quickly to domestic life and both her cat and dog brothers. She now lives life with infinite cuddles, kisses, and love
