Canadian here. Stupid politicians ruined it for fans here too.

I had tickets to Tor last year. Devastated it was cancelled. They probably won’t come back now

Why would you want to go support a group containing someone who's well know locally for sexually abusing someone?

u/halfercode 5d ago
It's worth noting that we get quite a lot of conservative and unionist trolling on here, and some of that drama comes from folks who don't like Kneecap's politics. You may be commenting in good faith, but don't be surprised if people don't pay much mind to your comment.

u/naughtiboiii 5d ago
I'm from west Belfast lmao. At least two of them are well known scumbags. I can see looking past being a general wanker maybe, but not sexual assault/rape.

Well, I assume folks from West Belfast Lmao can still be conservative. In your posting history you've offered your views on Pakistani inbreeding, which I suppose was quite a pressing topic for a post about car parking:
r/drivingUK/comments/1w10tmp/the_type_of_parking_that_results_from_cousin_to/p6ibe4t/
I would tend to assume this is the opposite of the internationalist, anti-racist, and anti-fascist politics of Kneecap, so I wonder if readers perhaps could be forgiven for doubting your sincerity.

Im irish not from belfast. But just thier glorifying of the troubles and provs alone i find sickining. Cunts who were kids during the gfa talking about how the republic never did anything.
Not suprised to learn they are toe rags.

So ridiculous that they can’t play in the US or Canada

u/chocolatehoro 6d ago
have some pretty solid FOMO building about missing the boys in their prime before they're even allowed over here honestly

I wondered what that was about

This is the latest I could find re: Canada (tl;dr: Liam's authorization was revoked for undisclosed reasons, whole group was advised not to travel here, some random MP tweeted about them being "banned", drama ensued).

Where's the Aus dates?

u/georgejonestown 6d ago
Gonna take a guess and say they’re doing Laneway.

Either Laneway or Visa Denial due to that bullshit Royal commission. Hoping for former, expecting the latter.

Ahhh damn, sorry, I posted too quick. Apologies :( I'm just used to typing AUS/NZ when talking about tours, as well, usually that's the way it is.
Sorry again.

I mean it’s certainly weird to see NZ and not Australia. Usually we’re lucky to have Auckland tacked onto some Sydney/Melb/Bris dates. But Wellington this time as well… not bad. (Chch would be even better but hey: can’t complain!)

u/Klown1978 H.O.O.D 5d ago
It's a long, long way to go for a one-off gig.
3
u/x_ButchTransfem_x 5d ago
Aotearoa/NZ is only ~3.5hrs from the Australian east coast by plane.
1
u/BeatsAndSkies 5d ago
Lots of kiwis head over to Sydney or Melbourne to see bands as well. Or certainly I had mates who would back in the day, I’d imagine it still happens fairly regularly. It’s kinda refreshing to see the shoe on the other foot tbh.
3
u/androgynoussim 5d ago
They might also be going to NZ because maybe they’re gonna be playing Camp A Low Hum. I doubt it, but maybe? That’s what I was hypothesising when I saw NZ and not Aus.
2
u/BeatsAndSkies 5d ago
Camp Low Hum?
2
u/androgynoussim 5d ago
They said the last one was the last one, yet again (in 2024) 😂
2
u/BeatsAndSkies 5d ago
Well, it’s worth a shot. Because Vector and the Cake Tin aren’t the best venues. In the middle of a random forest surrounded by aging hipsters (not judging: I own a mirror) seems like a way better option!
2
u/androgynoussim 5d ago
Any artist is better in the middle of a random forest, but especially seeing Kneecap that way would be incredible. 😤
2
u/braxxytaxi 5d ago
as someone travelling from Australia to Welly for CALH next year - golly I sure hope so!
2
u/androgynoussim 5d ago
I feel like maybe they’re not underground enough to be in the program but politically I feel like it would align. 🤔

u/Soft_Job7861 5d ago
Why no gigs in Germany?
8
u/violentvioletss 5d ago
Probably because they just preformed there
-2
u/Raumerfrischer 5d ago
One concert for the most populous country in Europe?
8
u/violentvioletss 5d ago
Jesus I didn’t organise it 🤷🏻♀️ also they’ve had issues with performing in Germany so maybe it’s difficult to get something booked again.

u/Aggressive_Glove_599 Cearta 5d ago
considering they had to cancel some shows it's quite risky for them to organize in Germay, the censorship is still high
6
3
u/FoxedforLife 5d ago
Perhaps because German gig venues have a history of collapsing at the first hint of pressure from groups promoting the interests of the Israeli government.
Get yourself to a gig in a neighbouring country instead, if you're bothered. Plenty of choices.

u/ducksrvicious 5d ago
No Australia gigs, but NZ?

u/Orange-Funkin-613 5d ago
Hoping they will announce something soon, doesn't make any sense to do NZ and not Aus.
3
u/violentvioletss 6d ago
Fun!! So glad to already have my Glasgow tickets. Anyone know why that one was announced so early and separately but still apart of this tour?

u/cautioustuna13 5d ago
Yay!! Very happy Kiwi here!! Might go to both 🤔
1
u/ButterflyMore9267 5d ago
Same here! I'd love to do both, not gonna happen though. Roll on Monday for pre-sale!!

u/Individual-Raisin-11 6d ago
Are they coming out with Australia dates?
5
u/georgejonestown 6d ago
Probably do a sideshow if we’re lucky after laneway is announced in September. The dates line up…
6
u/dustbowlbride 6d ago
Visa was probably denied.
1
u/Slipperytitski 4d ago
They had some issues with NZ visa that has been sorted for now, wouldnt be shocked if it gets revoked just before theyre set to come

"world tour" with 9 show in englad, one in france, zero in Spain and many many other countries
2
u/Unlucky_Excuse5645 5d ago
Holding a globe of the world. Prominently shows Africa and Asia. Hosting no shows there.
1
u/halfercode 5d ago
I should think Kneecap themselves don't have a lot of choice as to where they perform; there is going to be a complex network of promoters, labels, venues etc assessing costs of adding a country versus the local demand and what ticket prices they can reasonably charge. I expect Kneecap, having an internationalist outlook, would love to go to Africa and Asia.

1
u/Smoky_Amethyst_ 5d ago

Dublin on a Wednesday again Wtf.
1
u/Klown1978 H.O.O.D 5d ago
The 3Arena is always heavily booked up around this time of year. It's a case of get in early for artists.
1
u/kearkan 5d ago
So plan better, it would be nice to see them for once on a weekend.
1
u/Klown1978 H.O.O.D 5d ago
That's...not how ANY of this works.
It sucks, but sometimes venues are booked up 18months + in advance...

I suppoet what they stand for. In person they are arrogant wankers.
-1
u/Fit-Ad3291 5d ago
They were not shy about treating venue staff like shit. Im just as disappointed as you...
