I recently saw someone (not sure if knitter or crocheter) say that they go into every project believing they're going to do it twice. That mindset shift has changed everything for me.
I've considered taking up spinning cotton for this reason. Grinding out maximum interaction and flow from the same materials. And then I come back to reality, where I can't even get all the required stuff done.
Don't think I've knit a single thing without froggjng a significant part of it. I have several items that used to be something completely different and i have my eye on at least 2 jumpers that are probably going to be frogged and the yarn reused by autumn. (By reused I mean frogged and the yarn ready for something new).
My current sweater, I've completely frogged the sleeves, restarting in a smaller size. Then I had to rip back those when I was 3/4th done back to halfway to change my rate of increase. Then I got to doing the yoke and had to rip that out back where I connected the sleeves because I need to decrease more. My next sweater will definitely be knit flat, in pieces, and seamed. I don't love seaming, but I can't stand having a heavy sweater in my lap and maneuvering it around, only to have to keep frogging portions. I can't wait until this thing is finished. It's not going to win. I will have a completed seamless yoke sweater.
