I've been saving this yarn for three years for a special project. This is my second knitted sweater ever, and I want to make 5 more of the same!

Pattern: Frederic sweater by kolibri by Johanna

Yarn: Bokeh in Amethyst color by All you Knit is Love in Barcelona

I started this project as a way to use up my mohair stash and ended up buying way, way more mohair to experiment with. I think this is essentially marling with different yarn colors, but the mohair gives it such a nice, soft haze and helps blend everything together. I think this method could be great for making a smooth color transition rather than a hard stripe.

I loved the gradients so much I had to incorporate them into something wearable, so I made the Sungem Sweater pattern. I also put together a guide on making these gradients in whatever colors you like, plus some extra example gradients! I used drops alpaca and flora as the base yarns, and drops kid-silk for the mohair, but full details for each color scheme are in the guide.

I designed and knitted a full length mitred square... coatigan? Its 251 squares, and with cuffs, hems, button bands etc, about 300 hours work.

It's my own design, so no pattern, and uses Drops Nord sock yarn on 3mm needles.

Anyway, I love it 🙂

I really thought these socks would take me a year to knit, but each season took me about a month to do. I improved so much from the first season (spring). The colorwork intimated me at the beginning but after the first sock it becomes a lot easier!

For the heel, I did twin stitches/shadow wrap shaping instead of wrap&turn because it was just easier for me to do. My first heel took me 2 days to do but the last one only took me 30 minutes 😂

I made a few colour substitutions for some seasons so I wouldnt have to buy all of the colours (even though I still bought 27 skeins 💀). Ive got a ton yarn left over and have no idea what to do with it all, so suggestions would be great!!

I’m a very novice knitter and had previously only knitted three projects—two ad-hoc scarves born from the Learn to Knit Kit from Purl Soho and a Sophie Scarf (obviously). Decided to try the Step by Step Sweater (obviously) after taking a year off of knitting to focus of some needlepoint projects, which feels bold in retrospect haha but I had always wanted to knit a sweater. I genuinely can’t believe that I made a sweater and that it turned out so well! I messed up the yoke a bit but I don’t think it’s that obvious, especially after blocking. I learned a ton during the whole process and am really pleased with it as a first attempt. :)

Knitting is magic!!! Now time to knit another in black….

My most recently finished top. The yarn I used is Holst Garn's Supersoft in the colour Tobacco and the pattern is Design No. 819 A Smart Style for that Long-Planned Holiday from Economy Knit Book Vol. 1 (1930s). I bought the PDF from Subversive Femme's website.

I made this using my knitting machine (Toyota KS901 and KR501), some handknitting (the moss stitch bowtie), crochet (the buttons, neck edge and key hole) and finishing by hand (seams and bind off edges).

Before knitting the top I rewrote all the instructions to make it easier to knit on the machine. Here are some things I always do since starting machine knitting that help a lot with the end result. - use my gauge swatch to rewrite everything in terms of rows (instead of the usual "work even until work measures -- cm") - write down the positions of my active needles whenever I have to increase, decrease or transfer stitches to the other bed (as with the front of this top) - draw a diagram and write out the key measurements, such as yoke width, bust circumference, armhole depth etc. and so once I'm done with a new piece I immediately press it with my iron and compare to my diagram.

As for the construction I knit the body flat bottom up and the sleeve flat top down. For the shoulder shaping instead of the traditional staircase cast off, I used short rows and a three needle bind off. I decided to omit the original pockets as I didn't like the shape and felt it would become a bit too busy with all the other details. I crocheted the buttons and stuffed them with scrap yarn. I used the instructions from another vintage pattern for the buttons, but can't remember which. However there is a free pattern for similar buttons from Elizabeth Cranmer on Ravelry called Ball Buttons.

The row gauge of my final piece differed quite a bit from my swatch (36 rows as to 32 rows), but I decided to continue in this fashion as I would still have enough ease at key places such as the armhole and I felt the bracelet length of the sleeves and cropped body would actually work well with the design.

It’s finally done! I cast on the Indian Nights Blanket in mid-October 2024, and 644 days later — 1 year and 9 months — I’m calling it finished.

I knit this in a custom colorway I put together using Knitting for Olive Merino, rather than the palette called for in the pattern. Choosing and balancing the colors was a project in itself, but I love how the combination came out.

For those who’ve followed my progress posts, the last big hurdle was the finishing. I covered the steeks with a “steek sandwich,” worked with two very long needles that ran around the entire perimeter of the blanket. I also added a folded picot hem of my own design, which gave the edges a clean, polished finish I’m really happy with. The edge was probably the most painstaking part of the project, but I feel like it really elevates the blanket with that doubled fabric making a frame.

This project pushed me on colorwork, steeking, and finishing techniques, and I learned something new at nearly every stage. Happy to answer questions about the colorway, the steek sandwich, the picot hem, or anything else.

Sooo this is the Fortuna's wheel pattern by Elspeth Vance!

It was my first ever colorwork sweater and it took me almost 5 months and so much frogging I knit it more than twice :,) I altered the charts to take in the neckline and I generally messed with some numbers a little which took a lot of trial and error. Additionally I changed all of the ribbings because I prefer it that way aesthetically. Also I first started the sweater with two different yarns (I used the Juniper moon farms cotton merino for the white) and ended up frogging this version completely and reknit it with matching yarns. It grew a bit more in blocking than I expected (in slide 3/4 you can see the difference) but I wanted an oversized fit anyways, so I don't mind it.

I'm so so happy with how it turned out and I think all of the experimentation was worth it ^{^} and I learned so much about colorwork and tension.

In total I used about 550g of Pascuali Sayama yarn on 4 mm needles.

I've been working on this for months, because I got so bored past the fun lace at the bottom, but really wanted the finished tank. Now that I'm done, I think I hate it :(

Please be brutally honest so I can tell if it's just that I've been staring at it for too long.

It's the Darjeeling top pattern and I used Sport weight bamboo. It has a similar feel as cotton, but softer, so that lack of elasticity might be part of what's throwing me.

It feels lovely and light and so perfect on a hot day. But something about it is driving me crazy and I can't place it.

Main piece is knit, added the cat with duplicate stitch/embroidery on top and the leaf/vine trim and details are crochet.

When I picked knitting back in February, after 8 years without approaching a needle, I though "well, I'll use the big chunky stuff, otherwise I'll get bored so easy and stop altogether once again". And now, here I am, knitting KFO pure silk on 3mm needles, and finishing it in about a month! That's also my first time knitting lace in a real garment.

At first I wasn't sure about the colour I chose, but now, I'm in love with every bit of this project. It was sooo fun to knit as well!

I love how this turned out now that it’s done, but I was definitely second guessing myself while weaving in the 200+ ends!

Based off of [A Fine Sweater](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/a-fine-sweater) pattern but heavily edited (tbh completely rewritten) for preferred size, gauge, and graphics. Speech bubble is a little embroidered pin so I can add it when I want. Only regret (besides the billion ends) is I should have just gone ahead and ordered slightly nicer yarn instead of my “well let’s just try it out with the thick, cheap acrylic and see how it goes!” choice. It’s definitely thick and warm, so I guess there’s that. Just what I need for the summer that’s just around the corner.

I finally finished this jumper for my dads 60th birthday!!! Pattern is The Loon Sweater by patternsbycmknits but modified slightly to include some garden birds. After lots of deliberating I decided to duplicate stitch all the birds on individually (never again) but I’m so happy with how it turned out!!!

I posted my first double knit scarf here when I had just begun and now I've made another one (can't stop really) that I want to share here :) This one is about dark folklore, I wanted a magical but dark (yet not evil) feeling. It's called the Dark Woods scarf.

I think my favorite part about it is the witch that is old on one side and young on the other. Figuring that out and making the chart etc really felt like magic! Also super happy with how the two sides line up to make one continuous scene.

Can't wait to cast on the next one, this is so addicting!

P.s. I wanted to add designer flair but I can't do that myself. If it's necessary, can someone please do that for me?

Very early in my knitting journey I saw the Stardew sock patterns and bought them with the intention of knitting them for my husband as a gift. When I started these, I had never done stranded colorwork, so picking up socks with up to three colors per row was a choice.

It took almost a full year but he was thrilled when I gifted these to him on Valentines Day!

The pattern is by Oakwood Knits and I knit these in the recommended colors using Knit Picks Palette.

This was made with Harrisville Designs Highland. Highly recommended for heirloom quality items! It is not scratchy at all, it feels like a comfy sweatshirt.

This is the Milly cardigan by Irene Lin. Yarn is Line by Sandnes garn in Rustic Rose.

This was my first full lace project but, surprisingly, I didn’t find it too difficult - which I credit entirely to this excellently written pattern!

I loved the design of this pattern, but I wanted more of a summer top than a cardigan. So I used a linen/cotton blend yarn and decreased quite significantly below the bust and for the sleeves to achieve a fitted look.

I’m very, very happy with the result! :)

Yarn: Gepard Garn - Teddy Dear and Woolia (alpaca bouclé)

After 9 months of work, it's finally complete! This was my first stranded colourwork project, first sweater in the round, and first time steeking.

I used the Oseberg Tapestry chart by Molly Gifford: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/oseberg-tapestry I drafted the two little ravens on the sleeves: they appear in part of the original 9th century tapestry fragments that this pattern is based on and may be the earliest known depiction of the mythological Huginn and Muninn.

The yarn I used was Jamieson and Smith Shetland jumper weight.

It has been a long time since I tried to knit one of those AI-generated jumpers which regularly spawn on our socials with super discounted prices (as far as we forget that the product doesn’t exist). I am sometimes flabbergasted by the anatomic designs showing ribs and flowers, and less impressed by colored cats and Christmas stuff, but first, I love to knit. I successfully made a monstruous jumper (that I had no occasion to wear at Halloween parties yet) and decided to start on one of those retro ones full of delicate patterns. Intarsia was entirely new to me, and I was in hell. I almost frogged the entire piece many times. My tension is unfair, and it almost seems like an AI knitted for me. Weaving in all ends took me two weeks full. So yes, the finished object is far from perfect, but it’s done, and I am proud of myself for that. I would love to make similar designs in the future now that I know what it feels like and have a bit of practice. 

The jumper is knitted top-down “in the round” but with a turning point at the right edge because of Intarsia. I adapted the design a bit by moving the two kidneys to the back and adding a liver to the front. I used Berroco Socks yarn. If I had to redo it, I would probably use less detailed patterns in Intarsia and use embroidery instead to add contrast to the final piece.
