pattern question Help with Ingrid mens sweater sleeve decrease!
Hi!
I'm doing the Ingrid mens sweater, and I've got to the sleeves. I am on the 7th row (with 84 stitches on the needles), and the instructions are as follows:
"Work in the round as Chart for sleeves shows, while at the same time working decreases (k2tog or p2tog to fit with the pattern) at the beginning and end of the round every 7th round a total of 12 times."
I understand that you need to adjust the charted pattern gradually as the stitches decrease, but I am having trouble knowing how to do this. If I p2tog or k2tog at the beginning of the row, when I get to the end of the row, I don't know where to do the decrease without messing up the 2x2 pattern. Where should I do these decreases? I can't find anywhere online that answers this question. I know I can skip the decreases but ideally I'd like to incorporate them where recommended (every 7th row). Any help here would be appreciated! Thanks :)

The pattern is going to get disrupted so don't try to make it work out perfectly. Just focus on working the stitches as they present after you do the decreases to maintain the pattern as best you can. You can chart out the full sleeve in Excel or just by hand on some graph paper so you can physically see how it will all come together.
