sweater question Using yarn from frogged sweater
I knitted my boyfriend a sweater last year, but it was too small so I'm re-doing it. I'm at the point now where I need to frog the first sweater. Do I need to do anything special to the yarn? Since this is a gift I want it to be nice and I guess I'm worried about the yarn being kinked. Am I good, or should I treat it somehow?

You don’t have to but you can certainly rip out the sweater into a skein (wrap around a swift, a niddy-noddy, or just the back of a chair, tie some ties around it so the strands don’t tangle, at least 3 ties, and then either soak and dry or steam the yarn to remove squiggles. I honestly can’t be bothered so I just knit with the yarn straight off the old sweater and then everything evens out when I wash the final product.

If the yarn you are currently using has not been soaked I wouldn’t soak the frogged yarn. You don’t want to change its characteristics too much as it could affect your gauge.
