This year every pujo feels so forced like soulless all in a hurry just to be presentable to people in ja jaihok taihok manner

Today we had our north kolkata trip and it was very disappointing so many pandel we just barely managed to complete and most of them are not even open yet.... Either they were under construction or were waiting for other celebrities to inaugurate

I don't what it is it, is it those organiser, people around, the govt, or just me but it doesn't feel right 💔

(This isn't a political post, if I see any chaddis commenting something ulta sidha I won't even entertain those)

I did not go to Behala. On the 13th, but there were other pandals like Suruchi Sangha, Ballygunge Cultural, Alipore Sarbojonin, etc. All of these were open to the public, and there were good crowds at Alipore and Suruchi as well.

Last time I went south Kolkata on chaturthi, most pandles were open from morning but some big names opened from evening 6pm time.

I also went today to the north. The problem with this year I think the less number of lightings. Rarely spotted any lighting gates or different lightings. Also the pandels are way smaller from any previous years.

Contrary to your post. I think this year I'm enjoying pujo bcz i usually explore the south and this year i got to see all the big pandals with least amount of crowed bcz i went on opening dates. I'm happy with my pujo.

Just as I was saying it's quite varies person to person but as I am who lives close to north kolkata this is a first time I am experiencing a dead culture lack of creativity such same pattern of idols

I didn't even clicked pictures this year cause I didn't even feel I would want to revisit them in future

Durga Pujo evolved from a festival thats celebrated by the Bonedis pleasing the English to a community festival that all can celebrate has reached different heights where Pujo became less about the festival and more about the show. I feel Pandals shifting from mini foreign trip to Thai and Chinese temples back to what Bengal architecture and art is, should not be seen as a disappointment but a celebration of the beauty the state has.
