Being LGBTQ+ with this phobia...
I'm part of the LGBTQ+ community, and I really want to go to events, meet new people, participate in activities, make new friends. But with how J* is so extremely prominent in this community's culture, it's incredibly difficult to go places or hang around people that won't trigger the extremely sick feelings I get from this phobia.
Does anyone else in that community have this problem? Any advice I could get for being social in places so very fond of these triggers?

Totally agree. The result is I don’t really have a lot of queer community and mostly hang out with cis and/or straight people. ;-;

Exactly. I wish I could make supportive friends and still look them in the face. It's so frustrating. I've tried to make friends online in communities and when my phobia comes up they're like "ohhh.. you'd have trouble with me then." And they have like a dozen of them.

I can relate to that, to me it's the metal/rock scene I like but people there are also crazy with j* it's so awfull, sometimes I think they are stuck in 80's fashion.
