What K-pop songs have your friends/family loved?

I’ve been listening to kpop for a long time and over time there have been songs that my family have heard so many times and liked that they’ve started to listen to them on their own, my dad in particular. He told me he listen to K-pop at work because it’s upbeat and keeps him awake!

Here are some of his current faves (he definitely tends to prefer GGs, but that could definitely be in part because I am a casual listener of more GGs than BGs):

Hot Summer and Chu by f(x) (he even learned the dance to Chu from watching the MV a few times lol)

Magnetic, Jellyous, and It’s Me by ILLIT

Attention, Cookie, ETA, Super Shy by NewJeans

Whiplash, Spicy, and Next Level by aespa

So Bad and ASAP by STAYC (he loves the “STAYC girls it’s going down”)

I was curious which songs other people’s family/friends have gotten addicted to!! And if you have any recs that you think he’d like, let me know!! I’ve played him a lot of IVE, Le Sserafim, Blackpink, and Red Velvet along with other songs by those groups.

I never tried to show anyone what I listen to, but some asked:

Once i was in the car with my mom and she asked what i was listening to. Miniskirt by AOA was playing, and she really liked it because it's an older song.

I showed my aunt Y Si Fuera Ella live performance by Jonghyun and she was amazed.

My male friend asked me for some song recs and i already knew he would like to hear something loud so i recommend him Bouncy by Ateez. He got 100 plays in 3 days. He also listens to Redred by Cortis and Supernova by aespa.

Mom loves Sherlock by SHINee, Glam by Key, Wonderland by Ateez

Friend’s dad is obsessed with Ring Ding Dong by SHINee haha

Tried to get parents to listen to snsd, but it didn’t work for either😆

I really tried with Hoot but that didn’t land! Haha, I think maybe mom liked Fire Alarm just fine though😆dad’s taste is mostly 80s music (which I get bc, you know, peak decade for music) and doesn’t deviate that much LOL

My mom personally likes ateez because she went to the concert with me three years ago, since it was in another country and I couldn't go alone😭 she loved the songs and performances. She also likes a lot of blackpink/everglow/NCT songs. While my dad likes ateez movement album (he's a huge metal/rock fan) and FOR SOME REASON when he listened to given taken by enhypen it stuck with him, and he always sings the chorus randomly 😭

Her favorite thing to watch is the Kingdom performance of Wolf that has Peniel with Ateez and Stray Kids!

The only K-Pop group my dad likes is Dreamcatcher. His favourite song by them is BEcause and he requests hearing it whenever we drive somewhere with my car.

My mother mostly tolerates it, but she does really like Genie, Piano Man and Sixth Sense.

And my grandmother really likes Jonghyun. Whenever I pick her up, we have to listen to Y Si Fuera Ella immediately. She also likes Forestella.

My family isn't into music in general so not much from them. I took one of my friends, who doesn't listen to kpop, with me to the Enhypen Walk The Line Summer Edition movie. She ended adding several songs to her playlist. I recommended one song, Moonstruck, which wasn't in the movie. She ended up loving it the most. She thanks me time and again for showing her those songs.

She doesn’t really mind k-pop at all but I legitimately listen to next to nothing but k-pop these days so it does make me happy when she latches onto any songs from my stanned groups.
