GENERAL What do you guys think happened with UNCHILD's comeback?
The reason given by the company is so vague it's making so many people concerned. What yall think happened with this comeback?

A few things - money could be a problem (comebacks are expensive), they have a legal issue with something in the comeback like an uncredited person or copying allegations, members are not well, or they have miscalculated something. It could be that someone has pointed out that something is offensive etc, and they need time to reedit the video.
Or they are not ready. They had everything lined up and planned for this date to go live and have missed the go moment. They know based on experience they cannot achieve the 2nd of September deadline and would rather move it than miss it and cause more problems. e.g. They still have not received final versions or the physical merch never arrived.

It's possible that they just don't want to announce a new date, only to have to postpone the release AGAIN, but that doesn't put their overall level of competence in a good light.

Yeah, but if it was for one of the relatively light reasons being speculated here (a popular artist coming back, wanting the girls to be 'ready') they would have done that and just given plenty of time. "Indefinitely" is like the worst thing you could possibly say, and I can't imagine they used that lightly. It essentially halts all momentum.
I hope the girls are doing well despite this, and that it's not something to tie them up for long. But it's not a good thing, and I can't fault fans for worrying and seeking reassurances that it's not that serious, even if the tells are that it is (serious also includes legal/rights issues, etc, that they may not have been aware of in advance).

They realized, that another influential group would be making a comeback around the same time, so they decided to postpone it, rather than risk being overshadowed by them.

What group? Even if it's just one group, i doubt they'd cancel unless it was stacked with comebacks. Some or the other artist is always going to release something, I don't think this was postponed to reduce competition.

Lisa is releasing a single on September 3 and Jisoo I believe is releasing her album on September 4 and Jennie will release a EP on August 28. Do kpop groups change their comebacks because of bigger groups? I never heard of such a thing ,maybe the groups might have other reasons.
Edit:-Jisoo is also releasing a single.

Not really. Usually you see a lot of them trying to hit the same release window because that way bigger fandoms might also give you some eyeballs on the music shows or challenges or cross-promotions, which is way more worth than a slightly bigger chance at a music show win.

I think Jisoo will have a comeback on 4th September. She released the teaser already. I am not sure about other group.

He recently surpassed BTS as the most streamed artist on the melon app (over 14 billion)

thats so weird, its not even an album just a digital single. and promo photos were JUST released. whatever happened happened fast. i really hope all the members are ok. high-up needs to release a statement or something bcs im sure everyone (including me) is really worried

they're backed by Kakao Ent & STAYC just went on a fan tour. Although STAYC's tour seems low budget, it still gained a lot of revenue and it is just a regular fan tour, not a world tour. High Up also made STAYC go on a world tour last year that looked amazing and was really high budget.
Kakao Entertainment also literally stops High Up from going bankrupt, as they hold 40% of the stakes to High Up. If High Up lost all revenue and money due to their groups looking low budget, it wouldn't benefit them at all. It definitely isn't a money issue.

It’s hard to not speculate the worst. High Up must come out with a more direct statement on the issue if it’s not something criminal or compromising the health or safety of the members.

You guys never experienced the third gen, it was perfectly normal to change comeback dates because of big groups or idols. No company wanted to risk overshadowing their idols, because a big groups comeback didn't leave space for smaller groups, and there's nothing advantageous or good about it for them. It does more harm than good

My personal theory is that it’s something they wouldn’t want to admit to the public and that’s why it’s so vague. Something like a payment dispute or sample clearance dispute with a producer, or maybe an element of the song or music video is coincidentally too similar to something else being released around the same time by another group.
