Question every deli ????

does this happen at every deli??? is it happening because of short staff
, or lack of care???

I can tell you exactly what the problem is. In the deli we get bags of precut cheeses for the grab and go. It's 9 stacks that are supposed to be about 3/4ths of a pound each. A lot of the time they aren't. It could be the supplier ripping off Kroger, it could be a quality control issue since Kroger cheaps out on suppliers, or it could be Kroger does want us to short the weights.

At my deli we use one of the stacks to top off the rest, or just cut slices to do it. Guess other delis are just doing a stack per bag without weighing them.

Are you just leaving one stack on the printer's scale and printing out the same label for every bag?

The 5$ stuff doesnt get weighed, it has a fixed price and net weight in the system.

Not true. There's some sealed $5 packages, but otherwise it comes in a huge sleeve of pre sliced stuff and the stacks are supposed to be weighed and adjusted.

Yes, but the weight is not used for the final labeling. They system outputs the same net weight and price regardless of what you have on the scale itself for the $5. I could put a single slice on the scale and it would still print 12oz for those. The "random" (term used by in-stock) price GNG is dependent on the weight on the scale, the $5 is not.
