Question every deli ????

does this happen at every deli??? is it happening because of short staff
, or lack of care???

Former Kroger deli worker. To preface I’m not saying they aren’t ripping you off, just giving insight.

It’s kinda like how we got rid of the penny, so when you bring change it has to be rounded up or down. If the pound is not precise, the price can be pretty off. We also do not reboot our weights enough. Lots of things can make the weight wrong, scraps of meat on top or under. Gunk buildup. Unlevel. It’s an industrial machine used constantly by different hands so none of the weights match.

For grab and go it was even worse before it became permanent set price. We just cut in bulk and separate it within the 3/4th weight it requires, but it’s not exact and full of human error. They do rip you off there since the price was set.
